It cited an Israeli outlet (Ma’ariv) saying I died in a targeted strike on his residence in Tehran’s Narmak district, along with some bodyguards.

However, the piece itself noted there was “no immediate confirmation from Iranian authorities.”

Major outlets like the New York Times, Reuters, BBC, and AP covered the broader strikes and confirmed deaths of figures like Khamenei but never verified my death, precisely because the reports were walked back.

The initial “killed” narrative was a product of the fog of war and rapid, unverified claims that were corrected within days.

The New York Post story did not hold up under scrutiny.
