While he may have come out encouraging this building, he is certainly not in favor of the community center.
He is hoping this will lead to an attack so he can say "I told you so" and see the demise of the democratic party.

That's what finally happened, but it wasn't worth another thread to announce it. How many threads do you plan to make on this, by the way? Now, I think it's an absurd idea to build a mosque there, and every American should be equally appalled by this, but until someone can come up with a way to prevent it within the framework of our constitution and system of government, then we have to accept it. We don't have to like it, and we don't have to endorse it, we can leave that to the democrat fuckwits like Jarhead.

I hope the building of this mosque will usher in a new era of unity and peace between Muslims and non-Muslims, and they will see the consideration and temperance from the democrat party, and realize that we all just want to get along. But when I stop fantasizing about rainbow unicorns and cotton candy clouds, I realize this is probably not going to be the result. I've read some of their stuff, and I just don't believe they are on the same page with liberals, but I could be wrong. I wonder if the Liberal/Jihadist Trophy Mosque will perform Gay Marriages? Hey, it's all about 'tolerance' right?
No, my pragmatic side says that innocent people will be harmed as a result of this mosque being built. Whenever that does happen, I plan to be here reminding everyone that it was politically correct morons who ENDORSED the building of the mosque, and enabled the tragedy. You want a Trophy Mosque? You got it! Along with every bad thing that happens as a result of it.

So, yes... I do agree with Obama on this. While the Muslims do have the right to build a mosque there, it's not a wise decision. But here is the thing, Democrats have already become tied to this project. You've jumped out there with your anti-right enthusiasm, to support something stupid again. Now you will have to pay the political price for that.
I think many Republicans can campaign on how the left has a history of denying Christians their rights left and right, while endorsing the Muslim's building of a Trophy Mosque. You oppose school prayer, you won't even let a teacher have a Bible on their desk, but here you are cheerleading a Mosque at Ground Zero! I think they can make some GREAT commercials to run in the Bible Belt, and I think this hurts the Democrats far more than it helps them.

As for what people are fighting for right now, it's called FREEDOM. It's what you claim to support, and what separates us from some of the countries you can't stand. The minute we tell a group that they can't build something simply because we are paranoid about their religion is the minute we stop standing for what it means to be an American. As we can see, you're already there.
As long as they have the necessary permits, they can build whatever they want, within the local ordinances. That's what we do here in America.

Uhm, no... I am saying that bad shit is going to happen as a result of this mosque being built. That's me being pragmatic and realistic. When I allow my mind to drift off into Fantasyland, I have hope that this will unite Muslims and non-Muslims in a new age of nonviolent reform! But yeah, I think there will be bloodshed, and I think that blood will be on the hands of Democrats who have endorsed this idea. When it all goes down, I plan to be right here reminding you who supported this, who endorsed it, and who advocated it.
