Dude you need to concede the point, your correlation with Hitler and Christianity.Ive let the argument get hijacked.
The point is that, even if what you say is true....
Our Constitution requires that we not discriminate against any religen.
Do you want our government to start down that road? Only acceptable religens are allowd freedom...
To claim that the Quran says kill infidels and then claim that the Bible is innocent is simply wrong. Or a lie. Pick one.
Dude you need to concede the point, your correlation with Hitler and Christianity.
Did someone suddenly write a "New Testament" for the Quran??
Do you think everyone ignores the Old Testament?
I am not saying that there are no passages in the Quran that are hostile. I am saying that most religions have them. They date back to a completely different time. That some exploit believers with these passages if disgusting. That outsiders claim it indicts the entire religion is bogus.
Would you care to cite the number of examples, where the Old Testament law was followed; because I don't know to many Courts in the US, that allow that to be used as a defense.
You know, things like stonings, lashings, cutting off noses and ears, cutting off hands and/or feet, citing the Old Testament to condon the hanging of homosexuals, wipping women when they don't adhere to the Old Testament, etc, etc.
I was not talking about uses in court. The quotes from the Quran, and the crimes committed by muslims, have been used as justification for not allowing the community center to be built in Manhattan.
And yet you then tried to use the teachings of the Old Testament, as a form of condemnation, while ignoring the fact that a New Testament was written; while the original Quran is still used by the Muslim faith.
Our Constitution requires that we not discriminate against any religen.
You should go read the Constitution again, it most certainly doesn't require us not to discriminate against any religion.
You should go read the Constitution again, it most certainly doesn't require us not to discriminate against any religion.
But the quotes from the Quran are taken out of context and other parts of the Quran are completely ignored.
"... whoever slays a soul, unless it be for murder or for mischief in the land, it is as though he slew entire mankind; and whoever keeps it alive, it is as though he kept entire mankind alive; ... (Quran 5:32)"
Although, with the New Testament there is a complete cutoff from the atrocities of the Old Testament, and there is not an equivelent in the Quran.
The point I was trying to make is when people use isolated quotes to try and condemn an entire religion, they are making a mistake.
But then they do seem to have a really broad definition of "...mischief in the land...", don't they??
Are you advocating discrimination against a religion?
But yes, the US Constitution most certainly does require that we not discriminate against any religion.
"Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances."
Now in another thread you claimed that this even meant a religion cannot be taxed.
They have some lunatic imams that are teaching a perverted message.
Much like Fred Phelps does.
