I never said it was racism, I agree with your statement.
While the word itself is not racist, it is a word that I believe should be avoided, by everyone! The word is very closely associated with the worst kind of murdous hatred the world has known.

True, BUT not seeing the difference seems to be an illness only possessed by people on the right. Lots of women jokingly use the word bitch about themselves and about their friends, but men don't do it unless they are trying to offend because, most men, know that women don't find the use of the word by men particularly funny. Doesn't have to be explained. But for some reason the use of the word nigger does. Like I said, it one only a few words that white people can't use in the english language.

Her point was that this woman should be okay with white people using a derogatory slang about her, possibly in her home and not be upset that her husband says nothing, because Chris Rock says it all the time. That's a very stupid point.
As far as whether she should be fired, no but she should be chastised.
Many comedians use other bad words that I don't think anyone would want used to describe them. Certainly not in their own home.
What if I went over to Laura's house and started talking about her as a bitch, hoe and c$%^. I have heard some foul mouthed female comedians use those exact words, i.e., Lisa Lampanelli.
I think everyone that disagrees with Dr. Laura should call in to her show and start referring to her as a c#$%. If she complains, we can dismiss her as being hypersensitive. After all, comedians use the word.

The word is really not accepted as normal in the Black community as well. Dr. Laura is saying that because it is portrayed by the entertainment industry as normal it should be also accepted as normal in the real world which is a bunch of crap
She should not be fired directly for uttering the word, but in a perfect world her listeners would realize what a fraud and phony she is and how harmfull her advice is and enough of them would stop listening to her that the program would be unprofitable and thus taken off the air... IN a perfect world.

So basically what you are saying is, black people can use the word "nigger" because they earned that right, because of all the racial torment their dead ancestors endured at the hands of white people through the years, they can now denigrate each other with that word, and at the same time, become incensed when a white person uses it?
