Solar panels are the most expensive method of generating electricity, watt for watt. The panels are subject to damage from hail, wind, rain, snow, critters, and even sunlight. They produce zero power at night.
Wind power is the 2nd most expensive method, and it blights large swaths of countryside. They are subject to damage from hail, ice, snow, high winds, and rain. They produce zero power if the wind is too light or too strong.
It is much cheaper to renewable fuels like coal, oil and natural gas. The power plant takes only a few acres, and reliably and cheaply create power 24/7.
Even non-renewable fuels like nuclear power is far cheaper.
Solar is heavily subsidized by the government to build and operate them. Government even forces grid operators to buy this expensive and unreliable power source when much cheaper sources are available.
Same with wind.
So much for the Church of Green nonsense.

Closing the Strait of Hormuz has caused an actual shortage. That is reality. The full fear of what has happened has not hit, but it will in a few weeks.
By refusing transit to any ship that does not follow Iran's rules.

There is one or two ships running the blockade, and a few ships paying the Iranian toll, but for the most part it is closed. This is causing extreme shortages.
You cannot buy gasoline below $3.00 a gallon in the USA. There are places in the world where it is subsidized by the government, but that causes shortages. Again, I have to ask does Lionfish not buy gasoline, or is he so brainwashed he ignores the price.
As supply shortages work their way through the system, that is reality. I wonder what the alt right will say when that becomes a reality.
To get through the Strait without being attacked, a ship must make a deal with the Iranians, and travel through their waters. Right now control over once international waters of the Strait are being conceded to Iran, at which point they will decide who gets to go threw there. The Iranians are additionally demanding "investment" to replace their oil infrastructure.
The lower the gasoline tax, the steeper the rise in price. If you were paying $4 a gallon, and gasoline prices went up by $1, you get a 25% increase. If you were paying $2 a gallon, and gasoline prices went up by $1, you get a 50% increase.
That is just math.
