Updated =/= purged.

Updated = known people who have left or come in to the community are put in or taken off the voter rolls.

Purged = people who have voted fine in all past elections are suddenly kicked off and told to re-register, requiring them to jump all sorts of hoops.

And Magats (Trump) would get the power to purge CERTAIN rolls every 30 days. Meaning if you try to do what is suggested and register early to ensure it gets in, in time, you waste that time when Trump does a last purge 31 days before the election. Causing backlogs and delays of people now racing to register again.
