Iran war escalates

The Iran war is escalating sharply after an Israeli strike on Iran's vast South Pars natural gas field. Iran is threatening "zero restraint" and retaliating with attacks on energy infrastructure across the region, including in Kuwait and Qatar – pushing oil and gas prices even higher.

Iran escalated strikes on energy sites in neighboring Gulf states, including a key facility in Qatar, in response to an Israeli attack on South Pars, the world's biggest gas field. Oil and gas prices soared again as the strikes intensified the global energy crisis

Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth said Thursday would bring "the largest strike package yet" against Iran, as Joint Chiefs Chairman Dan Caine said the military is continuing to attack deeper into Iranian territory.

The Washington Post reported that the Pentagon is asking for an additional $200 billion for the war. Hegseth said "that number could move" and "it takes money to kill bad guys."
