Trump says ‘she has to be of age… above 6 years old’ in bizarre remark about kids

This is how Dementia Don thinks.

"President Donald Trump made a surprising comment about children while urging House Republicans to pass a strict voting bill on Monday. He spoke during a policy retreat in Florida and mentioned that a daughter providing voter identification had to be “of age, like above six years old.”

Trump made this remark at the Republican Members Issues Conference at Trump National Doral Miami. He called on lawmakers to support the SAVE America Act, which would require proof of citizenship to register to vote and a photo ID to cast a ballot. According to the transcript, Trump said, “Let’s not just get one like voter ID, but you know, it can be given to you by your daughter. You know, your daughter, she has to be of age, like above six years old. She’s allowed to say, you had to see, some of this stuff is so bad.”

Dementia, like alcohol, suppresses inhibitions. I think we all know what he was really walking about here. Right, Ms. Guiffre?

This ridiculous bill is just another blatant Republikkkan attempt to disenfranchise voters, esp. those of us who prefer mail-in ballots. The idea that "illegals" are voting in droves is another Reichwing "welfare queen and her Cadillac" myth. Undocumented ppl try very hard to avoid authorities and stay in the shadows. They are not about to show up at a registration location and try to get a voter card and risk being caught and deported. The bill's prohibition on mail-in voting is also unconstitutional.

My Mom is slowly declining with age, too, but she's still a sharp tack. Trump is a soggy sponge that's been sitting for way too long.

His brain sure is a soggy sponge. My brother just turned 83. He has a number of health problems common to his age, and his memory slips from time to time (esp. short term memory), but he doesn't ramble and mumble and sound like a drunk the way Trump does.

Actually sounds like a classic "Freudian slip".

I think so too. Usually when talking about the legal ability of children to do something, the speaker would say "old enough." I.e., "An eight year old is not old enough to stay home alone while her mom goes to the store." "Of age" is used when speaking of when a young person is legally able to consent to sexual activity. I.e., "A six-year-old is not of age to 'date' creepy Uncle Donald."

Besides the obvious dementia, his hand thing and the rash on his neck are interesting developments.

Remember how the MAGAts bitched about Biden's staff covering up his health issues? Why aren't they doing the same about Trump's staff doing the same?

"Soggy sponge" is apt, I think. Trump appears lucid much of the time but there also times when he seems fogged in.
