N. Vietnam did the same thing. They put high value military targets next to civilian targets that would generate maximum negative publicity on the attacker for collateral damage that was likely to be unavoidable.
Of course, for the anti-Trumper TDS crowd, and those opposed to the war in Iran in general, they'll only look at the collateral damage and scream about how Trump is a "war criminal" and the US being "evil" for striking the civilian target, ignoring completely its proximity to the high value military target just yards away. This was true during Vietnam, it was true in Iraq and Afghanistan, and now they're back doing it again in Iran.
The orange outlined buildings in the white outlined perimeter are a military target that was being taken out. The yellow outline building at the top is the girl's school.
Note how those screaming about Trump and the US military being heartless war criminals never mention these facts. They only see what they want to see that fits their hate filled narrative.
