Today, it's taken on more of a racist connotation.

The "anti-" prefix negates the term.

The final form of "antisemite" was a word coined in Germany as psuedo-scientific garbage to justify the imprisoning and murdering of Jews.
"Antisemitic" is just a personalized use of the word.

Antisemite essentially means to be against anyone from the Middle East, Jew, Arab, etc. and speaking such a language, though today it typically refers to Jews in particular.

It is racism, and continues to be used today to justify murder.
