True in the past, but they are running out of high-dollar defense missiles. Conventional anti-air is good but must be deployed outside the city since "what goes up, must come down".

A major problem is numbers; drone swarms can overwhelm defensive systems. All they need is for one to get through and hit it's designated target with it's 40 lb HE warhead.

The same drone without the weight of a warhead and with a more sophisticated targeting system could intercept an Iranian drone and crash into it much cheaper than the missiles.

This technology is advancing quickly. The addition of AI in the targeting systems make it even more interesting.

I forgot about lasers. If they burned out the sensors, the drone wouldn't know where to go. Still, ( # of drones) minus (# of lasers) = results. A positive number is bad news.
