But pretending Biden was “at peace” is nonsense. He ended Afghanistan, yes — and then still ordered strikes in Syria, Iraq, and Yemen. That is not peace. That is the same interventionist playbook with different branding.
The real problem is bigger than one party. Republicans may talk tougher about it, but both parties have kept the postwar habit of using military force without a real declaration of war and without restoring meaningful constitutional limits.
The military-industrial complex is not a Republican monopoly. It is a Washington habit.
