A federal judge in New York ruled Friday that the Trump administration must unfreeze more than $16 billion earmarked for a major New York infrastructure project and allow construction to continue, saying that public interest would be “harmed by a delay.”(y)

The temporary restraining order granted by US District Judge Jeanette Vargas in the Southern District of New York comes as President Donald Trump has withheld the funding meant for the long-planned project connecting New York and New Jersey through a new rail tunnel beneath the Hudson River.

Vargas said in a court filing that the states of New York and New Jersey would “suffer irreparable harm” if the Trump administration continued to withhold the funding for the project.

“Plaintiffs have adequately shown that the public interest would be harmed by a delay in a critical infrastructure project,” she wrote.

CNN has reached out to the White House for comment.

Another day, another idiot, barely selected, Joke Bribem judge of no particular merit makes a ruling. Since when have judges run the US? I'm curious. Judges shouldn't be the ones deciding these things. It amounts to a dictatorship of the courts, that is fascism as that term is used by the Left.

Do you disagree with the decision? It makes sense. The money was allocated by Congress. Trump does not have the power to stop it. Onc projects are approved by Congress, Trump is out of it.
I didn't read the decision, but I can hazard a guess that it's bullshit. Consider the source.

Yes, I vehemently disagree. An unelected judge is setting US transportation policy. This tunnel project is not something that is critical or national defense infrastructure. It's a nice-to-have improvement in the transportation grid. A single, unelected, judge (I'm leaving out her CV is as thin as toilet paper and she has ZERO knowledge of things like engineering) shouldn't be deciding US / federal policy.

Another psycho female federal judge has spoken. Appointed by none other than Otto Penn.
Otto Wittpenn has been dead for almost a hundred years, and did not appoint any judges while he was alive. Penn Station is named after the Pennsylvania Railroad, which takes it name from the state of Pennsylvania, and from originally William Penn. William Penn did appoint some judges, but has been dead for 300 years.
