Iran is just a nightmare yet the lefties totally ignore it

Very naive question!
Naive because the rest of the world has no skin in the game, and would be content for the US do all the work while keeping their hands clean.

I don't need the possibly of seeing more Americans killed just because trump wants to flex.

Darla said the same thing more or less years ago. The US has no choice but to finish what they started all those years back.

The legacy of President Jimmy Carter’s administration (1977–1981) is a subject of historical debate, with assessments ranging from ineffectual to forward-looking. While critics frequently point to crises during his tenure as a "mess" that required subsequent remediation, supporters highlight significant achievements and foundational work in foreign policy and environmental conservation.

Major Challenges and Critiques
Critics often argue that Carter's policies led to significant economic and foreign policy crises that required cleaning up:

Economic Malaise: Carter inherited a difficult economy, but his term was marked by high inflation (reaching 13.3% in 1979) and high unemployment, often described as stagflation.
Energy Crisis: The 1979 oil crisis and rising gas prices caused widespread public dissatisfaction.
Iran Hostage Crisis: The 444-day captivity of American hostages and the failed rescue mission, Operation Eagle Claw, were seen as a major failure, contributing to a perception of American weakness.
Soviet Invasion of Afghanistan: The end of détente with the USSR prompted the "Carter Doctrine," which marked a sharp pivot to increased defense spending and a more confrontational foreign policy.

There is plenty we can do, and are doing, without starting a war.
Meanwhile Iran is slaughtering its citizens and rebuilding it weapons. The more weapons they get the harder it will be to stop the slaughter. The more missiles they build the more lives of American military men and women may be lost. Iran is as weak as they will ever be now.

And Saddam had WMD.

Propaganda works so well on weak minded folks like you.
The FBI agent that interviewed Saddam said Saddam was terrified about Iran with whom Iraq had been at war with for over 6 years. Saddam reasoned that if the US thought Iraq had WMD so would Iran. So Iran did multiple things to make the US think he had WMD. Saddam thought Russia and China would stop the US from getting the UN to attack Iraq. Saddam did not think the US would go it alone. He overplayed his hand.

Why not, using your argument, we should take over. Bombing without boots on the ground will not do anything by kill lots of people.
Pinpoint bombing of key leaders and take out missile and navy. Let the people do the rest. I never said we should take over. The people should rule themselves.
