There's only ONE reason this muttonhead breitbart took a quarter-century old tape featuring an unknown government employee, and released an artfully-edited version over the internet, ruining her name and career in the process...
...and it wasn't to perform a public service.
And let's not forget that Ms. Sherrod alerted her superiors at the USDA 5 days before Breitbart broke the story...5 days before she was fired.
Think about this they, the USDA, had 5 days to get ahead of this story.

Proving what a moron you are. The tape was made in MARCH of THIS YEAR! She spoke of an incident that happened 26 years ago. And unless you have PROOF that Breitbart edited the full video (which he didn't have because the NAACP wouldn't release it) then you'd be wise to not slander him that way. Her career was ruined by an overreaction from the White House, not Breitbart!
I was wondering when someone would point out this lil ol' mistake about the tape being a "quarter of a century old" malarky. Naturally I figured since PRicky is so fastidious about pointing out the "facts" of this event, he would be rolling in to "set the record straight".

No, I think you are born once. What does that have to do with the NAACP being hypocrites and calling out the TEA Party for the racist elements within, and not having so much as a video to back up that charge? This was never about Shirley Sherrod's racism, or whether she realized the error of her ways! That was not Breitbart's point, that wasn't the story. It's what you have made the story into, and what you need the story to be about, so you can float this bullshit charge of impropriety on the part of Breitbart and Fox News.
Again, is there ANY doubt how this would have played out, if the tape was a white man speaking to a TEA Party rally, admitting racial prejudice in 1986? Would it matter that the context of his story was to tell of his redemption and contrition? Would you even acknowledge that part of the video? Or would you have even stopped screaming "RACISSST" by now?
The staunchest white liberals of the day have no problem with racism against whites. You are 199% correct. If this were a story about a white woman or man making these claims about a black farmer the very people here trying to tamp down the story would be caterwauling so loud we'd never hear the end of it. This is a black democrat woman. Talk about the triple threat!
They couldn't care less what the message is or was Breibart was making. If you stuck the evidence right under their nose notorized by The Obama himself, they still would believe what they want to believe.

Well his assumption wasn't outlandish at all. He assumed the people of the NAACP approved of Ms. Sherrod's behavior in 1986, because they didn't boo her when she spoke of it. In fact, they seemed to approve of it, if my ears haven't deceived me. At 17:20 into her speech, when she is first speaking of this incident, the audience is heard cheering her remarks.
This comes from an organization who condemned the TEA Party as racist, without ANY evidence! Here, we have evidence... a woman admitting she was racist as recently as 1986, and the NAACP didn't see fit to expel her from their ranks, she has been a member in good standing the whole time.
Now whether Ms. Sherrod is sorry for this, or has found redemption, is beside the point. That wasn't the issue Breitbart was raising, or the focus of his story, those things remain intact. The White House forced her to resign, not Breitbart or Fox News. They later claim they were "snookered" by Fox News and Breitbart, but Fox News didn't even cover the story until the White House had forced her to resign. So are we to believe, the White House acted solely on what Breitbart posted on his website? That is a very scary suggestion, and if true, is alarming on every level.

Sorry, there is no cheering...when she begins telling her story the audience initially responds with some low murmuring, that's all.
You know why yo don't hear any booing on that tape?
Because the audience WAITED UNTIL THEY HAD ALL THE INFO and THEN formulated their varying opinions.

This is the best rewriting of current history anyone could have written. There is no cheering. There is some nodding, nodding does not mean they were cheering the fact that 26 years ago she had some hateful thoughts of people that she was supposed to be hating. He father was killed by a white farmer who an all white grand jury refused to indict. So she probably had some understandable, though not honorable conflicts. But she ended up helping them and they to this day speak highly of her. Nodding by an audience can signify that they understood her initial trepidation. It does not signify that the people there thought it was a good thing that she reacted poorly. You, like Brietbart, want to believe that the NAACP act with racist motivation toward white people. What this signifies to me more than anything, is that after 2 years of a black president, people who don't like him anyway now want to accuse his administration of being racist toward white people. That somehow they are getting back at whitey for a century of racist behavior by many whites towards many blacks. It is more white whine.

Again, I will pose the scenario.... What if this were a white man speaking to a TEA Party group, telling of how he blatantly discriminated against a black farmer because of his skin color, and eventually decided to help him by sending him to "one of his own kind?" And what if the TEA Party audience nodded in approval of his comments, and murmurs of support could be heard on the video? What would your 'take' on that be? What if I were sitting here defending that white man, by claiming he found redemption and so, there was nothing wrong with that? And what if this happened while the TEA Party was passing resolutions to condemn another group for having "racist elements" within their ranks?
I already know the answers to these questions, you don't need to bother. This is what is commonly known as HYPOCRISY! And you all are what are commonly referred to as HYPOCRITES!

There is NO excuse for racism! NONE! I am sorry for the injustice regarding her father, I don't know all the details of that, and neither do you. We assume she is telling the truth, and taking her for her word on it, but even THAT doesn't excuse racism! Sorry!
And it's important to note, 26 years ago, when Ms. Sherrod was practicing racism in her job, she was a member of the NAACP! A group that is now calling out another group for having racist elements. ....People in Glass Houses....

I'm not saying "they do it too" at all... the NAACP already DID it! They passed a resolution condemning the TEA Party for "racist elements" and there wasn't so much as a video to support the charge! Hurling the "RACIST" charge has gotten OLD! It has become the "go to" argument for ANY person on the left, who finds themselves in trouble making a point. It has become the main point and counterpoint to any discussion with a Liberal on any topic. And it has gotten absolutely ridiculous. Aside from the detrimental effects of diminishing the REAL problems of racism in America, it's just plain dishonest and unethical.
TEA Party people do not like the policies of this administration, or the direction this president is taking the country..... and guess what? It wouldn't matter if the mutherfucker was PURPLE! This has NOTHING to do with his RACE! It's NOT the TEA Party who is continually pitting black against white, it's not the right who is blatantly discriminating against people because of skin color, and excusing it because of past history. Conservatives believe that ALL men are equal, and deserve the SAME opportunities, regardless of what color their skin is! They want the black man to have the exact SAME opportunity as every other man, there is NO discrimination when it comes to capitalist success, and the Conservatives wholeheartedly support THAT for EVERY American!

I agree with you. The TEA party is, in general, tired of to much government. They have done a good job in removing the odd racist from their midst without any credit from the left. But the right also cries about Affirmative action, pretending that it has somehow hurt the white man in his efforts to get a head. Both sides need to get away from trying to paint the other side as racist because of the exception that proves the rule.
