It most assuredly is...and is an honest one at that. I do not know if any gods exist or not.
THERE IS NO UNAMBIGUOUS EVIDENCE IN EITHER DIRECTION. NONE WHATSOEVER. GET THAT THROUGH YOUR HEAD.
You are just like the religionists...making a blind guess that no gods exist and refusing to acknowledge that you are. That is the way it is with just about every debating atheist. I have evidence that gods don't exist. It's very similar to the evidence that Santa doesn't exist:
- I've never seen Santa and I've never seen a god
- Nobody I know has seen Santa nor seen a god
- There's no authentic photos of Santa or authentic photos of a god
- I've never spoken to Santa nor a god.
The difference between Santa and a god can be easily explained as God of the Gaps.
We know where the Christmas morning gifts came from and who them put there. We don't know how the universe got here and, as man has done for as long as he's existed, that gap in scientific knowledge is filled by a god.
There's no good basis for believing in gods, it's just what man has always done in response to ignorance.
Witness testimony and historical data. Jesus of Nazareth is one of the most well attested people of the first century.
The stories in the Torah are not based on witness testimony. They are stories written by scribes and priests 500 to 1,000 years after the purported events.
So?? There is always an immaterial abstract reality you are never going to see, smell, or touch. The laws of mathematics, the laws of logic, the mathematical constants of nature, π, e are never going to be touched or smelled by you.
Are you completely one hundred percent certain that a lawful and mathematically rational universe was not caused by an external rational agency?
If your level of certainty is that high, do you really think it's highly rational to believe a lawful mathematically rational universe just popped into existence by random chance and by irrational, inanimate reasons?
Does that really seem like an inference to the best explanation?

It's because I don't have a child's mind that I don't believe in gods when the evidence FOR them is so poor. As a child, I believed in all kinds of extraordinary things: Easter Bunny, Tooth Fairy, Santa Clause, etc. As an adult, my default is to not believe - Extraordinary claims require extraordinary evidence and saying NOT believing in gods is a "blind guess" when the evidence FOR gods is so poor, meaning you might as well just flip a coin, doesn't make logical sense unless you have a child's mind.
