For some two decades now, at least 20 NATO nations have been pleading or urging Denmark
to beef up Greenland's military defense against the very possible Chinese, Russian or both nations setting up their own military bases there so that they'll be one step ahead of the US in their future foray into conquering the Western Hemisphere. So now with Trump at the very time of making NATO's wish come true by securing Greenland, the left is going bonkers because once again Trump is about to make another successful decision to not only keeping America safe, but keeping the entire Western Hemisphere for falling into the hands of our enemies. What's this I hear, Venezuela's anti American dictator is now in a US prison, Communist Cuba is about to sink into the ocean due to them not getting any more Venezuela oil, Russia will be hurting because of this stoppage of oil, etc. etc....

Nato military officers were discussing an arrangement where Denmark would cede 'small pockets of Greenlandic' territory to the US, where it could build military bases.

I have seen a lot of guesses for why this push now........the one that I find most likely is that this is narrative war gist that is intended to partly balance out the Imperial Empire getting its ass handed to it in Ukraine......this is to to drive the narrative "Ya we lost there and ya that is very bad but there is still hope".
