So was the NAACP correct?

:palm:

nobody ever claimed there were no racists in the tea party....all parties have racists among them, dems repubs....etc.....

stop with your stupid strawman bullshit

Me personally, yes I agree with that.

But you have not answered my question to you....

can you enlighten me as to why the naacp didn't also make a resolution for their own ranks and the dem party?

of course they are right that there are some racists in the tea party....can you be forthright and explain why it is they ignored the racism in their own ranks? their resolution was worded in a way as to try and paint all tea party members as racist, else there would be no reason to call them out, while ignoring the racist elements in the naacp and dem party.

NOt true, I bet they believe there is more racism in the TEA party than the Democratic party or amung themselves, thats whay they said what they did.

They have a political agenda and calling out there own racism or that of the Democratic party does not fit that agenda.

so what i said is true....they did in fact ignore their own racism and the dems because it does not fit their agenda...

thank you for the answer, however, i think you are so dense you don't realize you just proved my point for me

Did the Tea Party movement have racist elements?

the tea party wants entitlements reduced or eliminated - except their own and see blacks as the major receptors of entitlements

also, the tea party wants things to go back to they way they were before the crash

in other words a bunch of unhappy people that feel powerless and blame bho who also happens to be black

where are the asian, black and latino members

See, Jarod? People think of it as a political party, however erroneously. Then they say that the whole of "the" Party is "racist"... It happens here all the time.

I like DQ, always have. But this is simply wrong.

1. It isn't a political party, it's a protest movement that calls itself after a historical event we all recognize.
2. There is no "central" platform of the movement.
3. There isn't a platform because it isn't a political party. The reason it has "party" in the name is because we all learned about the Boston Tea Party when we were kids.

And the black, latino, etc. "members" are usually speaking at these events.

There is no "membership" in the TEA Party, because "the" TEA Party doesn't exist. The only connection between different organizations (loosely called that because some people choose to organize some protests), is the name. Nobody checks you in, you can show up too, DQ.

What the NAACP did went far beyond simply pointing out that there are racists within the TEA party movement. Had they simply left it at "Hey, we think there are racists in the TEA party movement", the reaction would have been "well, duh, every political group has its racists." But they went farther - they called on the TEA party to officially denounce their racists elements. This was wrong.

First, there is no single TEA party organization. Therefore there is no single TEA party authority to do any denouncing. The majority of more prominent TEA party leaders have consistently denounced racism within their ranks. But there is not one centralized leadership with the authority to speak for all TEA party groups nation wide. Therefore calling on one to act just shows the left remains completely ignorant of what the TEA party movement is and what it means in the politics of today.

Second, targeting the TEA party only as an organization needing to clean up their act is pure unadulterated bullshit. It is just one more example of how the left is doing anything and everything they can to defame the TEA party movement. The obvious puirpose of the NAACP was not to ask the TEA party to denounce any racism in their ranks - it was to publish the implication that racism is a major influence in the TEA party movement - an implication which is also dead assed wrong.

Therefore, in response to the question, NO the NAACP was NOT right.
