Who belives President Obama is a Socialist?

It's the responsibility of government to serve the citizens. If not, why have a government?

You're absolutely right....and
Its the responsibility of citizens to support government in an equal fashion....

and that automatically excludes socialism.....

So that means we need to exclude all socialist institution and programs in our government, such as, the US Military, The USPS, Social Security, State funded Universities, Public Schools, Medicare/Medicaid, etc?

Aaaahhhhh....I see that stupid pill kicked in.....

Post 80 was a bit over your head, huh...

That's a dodge, and not a very artful one.

We're not debating the stimulus here.
You brought it up. I even quoted the post, it isn't like I brought it from nowhere.

Anyway, often people say that he is a socialist, yes. And they say it because of things I brought up as well as others. Then you said they said the 'stimulus' was 'socialism', so I explained that it isn't, but why it sucks.

Well then by that logic and considering that the TARP fund was originally founded by the Bush administration and was transitioned over and approved by the Obama administration would then on that basis you not conclude that Bush was also a socialist?

You misread. When I explain why something isn't socialism but that it sucks it does not follow that similar stuff would then be socialism.

So in your view TARP cannot fairly be characterized as socialist in nature, but Obama can fairly be characterized as a socialist? Interesting.

Quit being deliberately stupid. You're better than that.

If all Obama had done was the stimulus you might have a point, however, as I explained above it doesn't take too much to understand why some people might label Obama a "socialist". It's also why many labeled Bush a liberal. His overspending on things like Pill Bills and total disregard for a modicum of immigration policy...

I'm not being deliberately stupid, I'm merely seeing where you draw the line on whom can be fairly labeled a socialist. Do you think TARP was socialist? How about the Prescription Drug Bill?

Where I'm sitting, you can call pretty much every person in the Congress a socialist save a handful here or there according to your position.

By Damo's limited definitions, the USA has been a Socialist country for the better part of the last century.

We are living under Socialism.

I already answered about TARP and the stimulus. You are being deliberately stupid.

And yes, people who believe that Obama is a socialist usually believe that we are already far along that path.

By Damo's limited definitions, the USA has been a Socialist country for the better part of the last century.

We are living under Socialism.
Some parts can be considered that way by some people. Why is that so difficult for you to comprehend?

Also, asserting an opinion onto me is again deliberately misleading yourself. I point out the absurdity of saying, "Nobody could possibly think Obama is socialist!" while at the same time he strives towards government-run single payer being the only source of health care, etc.

It is a bit thick to pretend that there is no reasonable way that people who believe that the government should stay out of that kind of thing might think "European-style Socialism"...

But wait, Damo's not saying the USA is Socialist. He's merely saying that he sees why other people say the USA is Socialist.

You forgot the Damo dodge.

Well, I missed you answer. Could you just answer the questions?
