Is it dementia or did something change his mind?

Because it's clearly a war crime.

They already released the video of the first strike. The second strike came 41 minutes after the first with the survivors trying to signal for rescue since they'd be facing near-certain death if left alone on the high seas. That's when "Operation Kill'em All" kicked in.

FWIW, a Hellfire missile is about $120K each. They used four on this boat alone. Why not save the money and just pick them up along with the drugs?

Maybe it's confirmation of that saying that "when you only have a hammer, everything looks like a nail"? 41 minutes? Is this confirmed?

If it's not true, it is a lie. Doesn't matter if HE believes it or not.
Ummmm....it's certainly false, but, a lie is intentional. If a person is delusional and believes something to be true, such as believing they can see ghosts or elves, that's not a lie. That's mental illness.

Deception refers to the act—big or small, cruel or kind—of encouraging people to believe information that is not true. Lying is a common form of deception—stating something known to be untrue with the intent to deceive.

While most people are generally honest, even those who subscribe to honesty engage in deception sometimes. Studies show that the average person lies several times a day. Some of those lies are big (“I’ve never cheated on you!”) but more often, they are little white lies (“That dress looks fine”) deployed to avoid uncomfortable situations or spare someone's feelings....

...
What kinds of lies do people tell?

People may deliberately create false information or fabricate a story. But most often, sheer invention is not the soul of lying. Rather, people deceive by omitting information, denying the truth, or exaggerating information. Or they might agree with others when in fact they don’t, in order to preserve a relationship. Self-serving lies, on the other hand, help liars get what they want, make them look better, or spare them blame or embarrassment.

That's what I recall from the news.

IF the video is released, I'm guessing it will be heavily redacted "for security" and only show the second strike, not the interim of the hapless souls looking to be rescued.

Shocking to me that so many Americans are so dumb they would fall for that.

If it was 41 min. later then it is differently against the Geneva Convention.
I am fine with the first strike but if these people were in the water signaling for help after that they should be covered by the Geneva Convention and if the 41 min. thing is true then Trump and his people should be charged , possibility with MURDER.

That's a question I've asked myself a number of times in regard to things like the stolen election.
I have no doubt Trump has lied his ass off in the past. The whole "stolen election" bit being one of them.

That said, as time goes by and his dementia worsens, he's starting to believe his previous lie and is now delusional enough to believe it's true.

It'd be a war crime regardless of the time delay since the salient point is that they fired upon survivors who were defenseless.
