awwww, the poor little college grad

I remember you telling this story. Is your son still happy with his decision today or has he ever said he wishes he went to Stanford?

Yeah, it still gives me heartburn but I'm working on letting them live thier lives. He went on to be an all-American and he was much more focused on wrestling in HS and college than books. His less academically tallented little brother also went to Iowa and is a senior in ACCT. different strokes I guess.

40k is riches to me. Especially as a starting job. I'd be in there in a heartbeat, with only the knowledge of a close family member's bad luck in the insurance market to give me pause.

My dad would be like, take it or you can figure out your finances all by yourself from now on. As soon as I finish my current college program, I'm looking to apply for an Active Guard position. I just mailed some forms to Citibank about my military student loans assistance program, but I will still owe Great Lakes through the nose, and also a small amout directly to the government.

I guess it's not uncommon for two brothers to be very different. You have three boys right? Is the third like either of his other two brothers or are all three completely different?

What's your point? Are we supposed to feel bad for you?

Clearly, different circumstances demand different responses. And yeah, I have no problem with the characterization of "kid." By kid, I don't mean dependent; I'm talking in terms of life experience.

It obviously depends on one's perspective. To me... a 24 year old IS a kid.

The 24 year old most likely won't like that depiction. :)

Yes, you neocon libertarian tools keep blaming the victims of globalization, like the fascist little bots you've become. There's no jobs problem, there's a sissy problem.

You are the new anti-americans.

Where do you get neocon libertarian? Libertarians hate neocons.

No they don't. That gay marriage thing is a dog and pony show to distract from the real issue of our time: The idiocy and destructiveness of globalization zealotry.

The real fissure in our nation is between the elites and the populists. just like always.

The other issues are more important than the ongoing struggle between the educated and the ignorant.

HA I worked there for 12 months and hated that company.. BUT for the record that's a sweet entry level position. Its a customer service position but great for learning the business. For a young aggressive person with a decent degree behind them it is by no means a dead end job. They can work there way out of that job into a non phone attached job within 12-18 months.

A dead end job is specializing in something with no job growth. The above job can go to at least 5 different career paths within insurance.

You old fuckers who didn't have to deal with globalization and discrimination against your gender and skin color just have no trouble passing judgement do you.

You have sold us out.

hahah did onceler really describe a 24 yr old college graduate as a kid?

This must be familar to onceler. He must have spent some time sponging off his parents to have that attitude.

The rest of us have been paying our way since adulthood.
I worked full time at a bank while I was in college. I had to take 3 hr long night courses that met once a week because I was working full time to pay rent and tuition. I was too white to get finacial assitance. They didn't even have the tax credit for tuition at that time either so I got taxed for every penny I tried to invest in my education.

This kid doesn't even know what work is, let alone paying for his bills.

To white for financial assistance? I got out of the Army at the very end of 92, had the army college fund which paid almost 1000/month and I still qualified for Pell grants that paid my tuition completely AND gave me enough money for about half my books. You must have been albino to not get aid. Not only that but student loans were also available. This sounds like white whine, or an inability to understand the grant and loan system.

White wine? is that your dismissive term to invalidate very real arguments regarding discrimination against white people?

It's laughable that you're considered knowledgeable on justice and the law, considering your belief that race based discrimination is a tool of justice.

Apologize to humanity, then beat yourself with a pipe please.
