Yep this was purposeful act. You can hear conversations between the two pilots.Worse, the switches have a locking feature so you can't turn them off accidentally.

There might be other ways to shut off the fuel.....I dont know for sure that the switches were ever switched in spite of the fact that we are told that they were....we now routinely get lied to about even the most important things.
I am awaiting more info, and more discussion from people I trust.

And the fact that the engines were in restart when the plane crashed says it all.
There is no up link to the plane that can affect performance. That is why AI pilots would be huge problem.
The fuel switches were turned off then one pilot said"why did you do that" to the other pilot. Then the fuel switches were turned back on. When the fuel switches were set to on again the plane was too close to the ground for the jet engines to spool up to full thrust again. The maximum altitude the plane ever reached was 400 feet. This was suicide/murder by pilot. The pilot's medical history suggests the lead pilot is at fault. The interim report does not specify which pilot turned the switches off.
These two pilots seem to be resigned to the fact that one of the pilots purposely turned the fuel to both engines off. They give an honest assessment of what the interim report says.

US officials fear that Indian authorities are trying to cover up the deadly Air India plane crash that killed 260 people.Only one passenger survived when Flight 171 crashed seconds after taking off from Ahmedabad in western India in June killing 241 travellers and crew along with 19 people on the ground.According to The Wall Street Journal US investigators believe the evidence points to Sumeet Sabharwal the flight’s captain deliberately crashing the plane.Data retrieved from the Boeing Dreamliner’s black box allegedly shows that someone in the cockpit moved switches to cut off the engine’s fuel supply.The captain then reportedly made no attempt to lift the aircraft’s nose before impact.
On the voice recorder they can hear the copilot say "why did you do that?" moments after the fuel supply was shut off. So presumably the Captain shut the fuel supply off.
Ya, seems pretty clear this was murder/suicide.....I have however heard nothing about probable motive......this being India we always need to keep terrorism in the mix.
