San Francisco sues nation’s top food manufacturers over ultraprocessed foods

The food experts are the ones who claimed over decades that we should switch from butter to margarine, that eggs are bad for us....and still claim that oatmeal is good for us.

Oatmeal is good for you, moron.
I prefer eggs and bacon, but ok..
Oatmeal with blueberries and bacon works. :dunno:
That something a friend of mine came up with.

The city of San Francisco filed a lawsuit against some of the nation’s top food manufacturers on Tuesday, arguing that ultraprocessed food from the likes of Coca-Cola and Nestle are responsible for a public health crisis.

City Attorney David Chiu named 10 companies in the lawsuit, including the makers of such popular foods as Oreo cookies, Sour Patch Kids, Kit Kat, Cheerios and Lunchables. The lawsuit argues that ultraprocessed foods are linked to diseases such as Type 2 diabetes, fatty liver disease and cancer.

San Francisco is mentally ill.

If you have people that will not or cannot control their calorie intake, don't pay attention to product labeling, and end up with health issues like being morbidly obese, that's on them, not the manufacturers or purveyors of food products that meet published standards for being safe to consume.

In short, your gluttony and resulting health issues are your own fucking problem. Don't blame others for them.

Adding berries is certainly better than sugar as so many do.....that is a disaster for sugar spike and gut health.....that people eat too much sugar is likely our biggest diet failure.

And bacon sure....both the protein and the fat help with the sugar spike problem.

But oatmeal is never a great idea, its problems can only be mitigated to a degree.

I am massively opposed to the practice of suing regulated producers for their products, which massively started with tobacco.

If there is a problem it is the regulators fault....sue them.

Good news,....Now the Feds can use this to only allow healthy foods/whole foods for SNAP participants. No treats,....no soda,....no nothing. AWESOME,....that's how it should be. :)
