The Guard's vulnerability from the beginning has been to a lone wolf attack, not some mob assault on the style of Jan 6. It's a wonder it took this long for one to occur. So what does Trump think he's going to accomplish by putting another five hundred Guardsmen in the city? What he will accomplish is increasing the danger of another lone wolf, with more grief for the victims, the families and the country.

Any kind of law enforcement is vulnerable these days ...every day...to lunatic lone wolf attacks... people are sick.....This latest tragedy is not the fault of the guard there protecting DC... The problem is that yet another another foreigner was here in the country illegally...targeting the Very individuals there to protect him. Why Is it that Democrats can never let a good tragedy go to waste... Shameful....
Why was it a mistake to put them there? It definitely made a very positive difference....Who has been stoking the fear about NG deployment? Those are the people responsible for this... Look at this statistics on law enforcement officials who are ambushed... Who stokes the fear and hatred of the police?

Great question, but trump makes every decision based on anger and revenge. He lost again, so he'll just react like an adolescent. I really feel badly for the guard, as they don't want to be there. They don't actually do anything, and they cannot open fire on civilians. Instead of being with family on Thanksgiving, they are playing trump's war games.
I'm bothered by this shooting. I would rather see this on a much larger scale aimed at ICE and DHS.

When before in the history of the country, as a matter of routine, has the military occupied American cities? Not what free societies do. It won't last any longer than Trump lasts, the one good thing you might say about it.

This is a loser mentally,....not talking about you personally as I in no way think you are a loser,....but that mentality is. This would be no different then choosing to not send LEO's into high crimes areas due to the threat of criminals. It would be succumbing to career violent criminals just because its a lot safer and easier. But what of the decent people who live in these high crime areas that are mixed in? Just to hell with them? Too bad? They can fen for themselves? NO,.....that's NOT the thing to do. Light must overcome darkness instead of succumbing to it out of fear and JUST BEING EASIER.
People who sign the dotted line know better then anyone exactly what they are signing on for. There will be risks that can pop up at any moment,....that's what THIS IS. That is the job description. Same goes for LEO's,....they can walk into a situation at any given time that seems perfectly safe and easily end up losing their life. The people who CHOOSE that life are also those who are the ones that WANT to be among the people running IN to the fire in an effort to save lives instead of fleeing like the rest. It is part of the gig, always has been.
