A Texas burger chain, famous for naming itself after Donald Trump and serving a supersized portion of MAGA politics, has shut down following the arrest of its Lebanese owner by ICE.
Roland Beainy, who ran Trump Burger with locations across the Lone Star State, was detained earlier this year after reportedly overstaying his 2019 visa, which was valid through 2024.
The restaurants, entirely themed around the former U.S. president and promoted as “a patriotic haven for burger lovers,” now appear closed, including the Houston location. On Friday, 10 October, The Independent reported that the Google profile for the Chimney Rock Road Trump Burger is marked “temporarily closed.”
The Houston Business Journal visited the site twice during peak hours this week, finding the neon sign off, a “closed” notice on the locked front doors, and a nearly empty parking lot.
“The chain’s future now hangs in the balance,” the journal noted, as legal complications stemming from Beainy’s arrest continue.
According to KHOU, an ICE spokesperson confirmed that Beainy had no immigration benefits preventing his arrest or removal. He was taken into custody on 16 May and placed in immigration proceedings. On 13 June, an immigration judge granted him bond while awaiting further proceedings.
“Despite false claims to the contrary, Roland Mehrez Beainy does not have any immigration benefits that prevented his arrest or removal from the United States,” ICE said in a statement.
“Beainy is a 28-year-old illegal alien from Lebanon who entered the United States in 2019 as a non-immigrant visitor, but he failed to depart by 12 February 2024, as required under the terms of his admission. ICE officers arrested him on 16 May 2025, and he was placed into immigration proceedings. On 13 June, an immigration judge granted his request for bond while he undergoes his proceedings.”
Addressing concerns that Trump Burger’s strong support for the former president might influence the case, the ICE spokesperson said: “Under the current administration, ICE is committed to restoring integrity to our nation’s immigration system by holding all individuals accountable who illegally enter the country or overstay the terms of their admission. This is true regardless of what restaurant you own or political beliefs you might have.”
