Stone's thread admits that 'affordability' is a Trump caused problem.
Or we will not. Are you afraid of the time before you were born? You didn't exist then, it will be the same when you die... we will not "know" or see, that is what death is.OK.
I think we have covered this topic sufficiently.
We all have the right to believe or not believe.
Believers are either correct or non-believers are correct.
We shall all see one day, who was right and who was wrong.
Through the glass dimly…something like that.
Jewish Arabs and Christians called God "Allah" centuries before Islam.Allah is the arabic word for God, even Mizrahi Jews use the word AllahI think Allah is a mispronunciation of Yahweh... and yes, that would be a "sky daddy". Any central creator that made "man" in his "own image" would be a sky daddy.
We ARE the currently dominant species on a nondescript mote of dust circling a nondescript star in a nondescript galaxy of 300 billion plus other stars in a visible universe of over 2 Trillion galaxies. We are clearly not literally made in the image of a God... for one thing we all look a bit different than each other.
We can be described as "in the image of God" for having the ability to reason, or emotion, or the ability to judge, or free will.
We buy free range eggs from a Mafia guy turned farmer (I think he is) for 2 dollars a dozen.Yep, another promise kept.
Man, I got eggs for 2.99 a dozen. Quid Pro had driven them over $7
Only because Turkeys are dirt cheap, everything else is the same!I don’t know about all grocery prices, my esposa does the shopping, but the cost of the Thanksgiving dinner is down from last year.
See post no. 12.

We may be MUCH less consequential than a single molecule of seawater in all the oceans and seas on our planet.
We have got to get over ourselves.
Why would you think I am afraid. My faith is strong.Or we will not. Are you afraid of the time before you were born? You didn't exist then, it will be the same when you die... we will not "know" or see, that is what death is.
Wow for once we agree! I have been here many times before, 4 in relatively quickly. After this one I am taking a vacation! Why would you think I am afraid. My faith is strong.
You have no clue as to what happens after death. The physical world is not a part of life before or after death.
Wow for once we agree! I have been here many times before, 4 in relatively quickly. After this one I am taking a vacation!
I believe I have as much clue as you do. In fact I know that I have exactly the same clue. Only mine doesn't require a faith in a specific deity to reach a magical afterlife that I will somehow approve of for an eternity. One of my issues when I was 10 was my fear of an eternal life... I believed that at some point I would know everything, have read everything and would never, and I mean never, want to sing praises to the Almighty for an eternity. Hayul no. If we have eternal life, your "paradise" sounded like torture to me.Why would you think I am afraid. My faith is strong.

I didn’t say I had proof of what happens before and after life ends.I believe I have as much clue as you do. In fact I know that I have exactly the same clue. I don't hate you, I believe you assume that I do because I tell you what my questions were that made me not just "lose" faith, but to obtain a different one. I do not hate anyone. I was angry as teen and as a young man because of all the crap forced upon me and the very deliberate and debilitating isolation from my peers. I did get over that though. My relationship with my mother is better than before, but I still do not believe in her religion. My time in the military was a bit tough because I was "weird" like a home school child...I didn’t say I had proof of what happens before and after life ends.
I said I have faith and I believe we will know.
It’s not my paradise, I didn’t say that.
Most children when exposed to religion do not hate those who believe, as you appear to do.
“Magical afterlife,” that’s sacrilegious. Why do you hate those who try to practice the teachings of charity and redemption?
See how that works.
Too funny.Wow for once we agree! I have been here many times before, 4 in relatively quickly. After this one I am taking a vacation!
I feel your pain.I don't hate you, I believe you assume that I do because I tell you what my questions were that made me not just "lose" faith, but to obtain a different one. I do not hate anyone. I knew nothing before I was born, including no suffering.
I believe that will be the same when I die.
I will not exist forever, and that is OK with me.
Fair enough, this does not change what I said. I think languages in the region had some divergence until there was more than one. I think Allah and Yahweh were one in the same, just after some linguistic divergence. Like the differences in Spanish and Italian... different languages...Jewish Arabs and Christians called God "Allah" centuries before Islam.Allah is the arabic word for God, even Mizrahi Jews use the word Allah
