Obama v. ????

same here, he was one of my top picks last time, mccain was around the bottom

too many religious bigots on the right didn't like his mormonism

I liked Mitt Romney until he sabotaged Sarah Palin and the McCain campaign, that sealed his fate with me forever. I guess it shouldn't have surprised me, anyone who can be a "republican" and win governorship of Massachusetts, has to be part snake.

Crist is gay and would not likely be able to get the nomination. The press has not reported on it, but with a bid for the GOP nomination his opponents would likely make it an issue.

The idea that he is an outsider is absurd. It was his image as an insider that lost him the Senate nomination, and he still has powerful friends within the GOP establishment.

I think its silly to assume that Giuliani and Huckabee will be in this time. Jindal will definitely make his first appearance, and I assume Pawlenty will as well. Also, Paul will probably pass the torch off to Johnson of NM this time. I think Duncan Hunter will be a stronger candidate who gets off the ground this time.

Useless fascist suckups.

The republicans could win in a landslide if they went populist. Not socialist. Populist.

But that would go against their reason for being, putting bankers in control of the world.

What did Mitt do to sabotage the McCain-Palin ticket? I don't remember.

aint that the truth!

I forgot he supported abortion...

Did you know that Ike regretted his Warren appointment? I would also argue that his New Look policy about relying more on military technology and less on large forces was a precursor to the modern neocon obsession with hitech wars, except they completely fucked it up in Iraq (the purpose of the strategy was/is to save money on troops and to reduce American casualties).

Then there was Guatemala, which is hard to believe happened in the 50s, but one might conceive of happening anytime since... Definitely his lowest moment, for letting it go down.

Charlie Crist? Are you fucktards SERIOUS??? The guy can't even win the Republican nomination as an INCUMBENT! But you think he has some kind of a chance to win the GOP nomination for president? What the hell are they putting in your crack pipes these days???

How about NJ Governor Chris Christie? I think that guy is the future of the GOP.

Palin might put her name in the hat, and if she does well, she might just beat Obama in the general. But, if she gets out there and runs a tight race with several others, I think she would drop out of the race and endorse one of them instead.

Whoever wins the GOP nomination will have a stellar chance of beating Obama.... last check, Paris Hilton's little dog was polling higher than Obama!

Sure...

Crist denies that he is gay and is married to a very attractive woman.

Jeb Bush certainly isn't one of them.....

All the negative press "leaks" supposedly from the McCain campaign, were from the disgruntled Romney camp. The GOP wardrobe purchases, the stories about Palin prepping for the debate with Biden, the accounts of her 'haughty' attitude with staffers... it all came from Romneyites who were pissed at McCain for not picking Mitt as his VP.

Rush hates the guy.

True that....

He was a protege of McCain, after all; another one of Rush's least favorite so-called RINOs.

Myself, I tend to follow Reagan's axiom that someone who agrees with you eighty percent of the time is either a friend or ally. The other twenty percent we can jaw over between several pints of Guinness and shots of Jager.

Speaking of which....Anyone care to join me for a round? :clink:

In July of 2008, who said...

"Obama will do well to not get embarrassed. It won't be like a Nixon-McGovern landslide, simply because McCain is almost as poor a choice as Obama, but I think Obama's chances of actually winning in November are slipping away rapidly, as America really starts to take an objective look at him."

I believe she's trying to. She's attempting to get TEA Party people to believe she's with them. I just don't think she'll get it. Stranger things have happened though.

We have one of the weakest Tea Party state boards in the country. Out of the 5 members, 1 says he's a dem. 3 say they are inde. I say I'm Republican-for the most part.

Not one of us find Palin even marginally acceptable.

That's a common sense viewpoint, but clearly, many do find her acceptable. I have yet to see a poll where she isn't a frontrunner among the GOP hopefuls.

I agree re Crist, disagree with Palin. Chris Cristie? Perhaps.
