It just struck me as one of those weird things that make you go hmmmm... Red Stater's are supposed to be knuckledragging illiterates who are too stupid to read, but conservative readers routinely propel conservative writers to #1 on the Bestseller list. Just going by the rhetoric from the left, you'd think a conservative book would be a bomb, and the conservative reader market wouldn't be worth fooling with. You would expect to see the #1 Bestseller list dominated by the "more educated and sophisticated" pinhead liberals!

You do realize that Beck, his publicist and Fox News all bought up THOUSANDS OF COPIES for Glenn to autograph and give away.

It's one of the simplest ways to boost sales out there.

Seriously, Threedumb, the point of this thread was to celebrate Glenn Beck's 6th New York Times Bestseller. Granted, there have been other authors who have more, Dr. Seuss was mentioned... but for a Knuckledragging Teabager who can't form coherent sentences without drooling, that's a pretty good accomplishment, don't ya think? I mean, the NYT Bestseller List is what Liberal Academic Pinheads hold as the standard of excellence in book selling, isn't it?

Now, I would think, if his books constantly top the Bestseller List, there must be someone reading them somewhere, I don't think the Neocons are buying them to support the paper industry or to have something to pick their two teeth with. It just kinda stands to reason that the books must be readable, else he wouldn't be selling so many, don't ya figure?

This still raises the question... Do Liberals get trounced routinely in book sales because they've already read as much as they need to know? Are their brains already at peak capacity and unable to shoehorn in any more information, so no need for new books? Maybe Liberals have advanced in intelligence to the point, they no longer have to actually read anymore? It's just peculiar to me, Liberals are supposed to be the pinhead academia types, who do all the intellectual reading and becoming enlightened, and conservatives are supposed to be the dumb uneducated illiterate hicks... but Conservative are selling the most books, and apparently conservatives are reading the most books... well, according to the NY Times anyway... but what do they know, right?
 
Conservative think tanks and other wingnut organizations buy up the books for the same reason Mao's little red book did so well, they want a stupid and uneducated public, with Beck et al they have it. Witness only the debate or lack thereof from the right.
 
Beck used to be on the radio here in West Palm with a totally different format, he was not so conservative, on some subjects very liberal.

Its all STICK pandering to the audience so he can get ratings. If you idiots dont see that, you are falling for it.

I have a theory that over 2/3 of his audience are liberals trying to find something to take out of context to "alarm" the few liberals who don't listen.

The funny part... Glenn Beck tops the NYT Bestsellers list for the 6th time today, with his latest book. A few months ago, Sarah Palin's book debuted at #1, something extremely rare for a losing VP contender the previous election. Rush, Hannity, O'Reilly... all routinely at the top of the Bestsellers list... It seems the people who are successful at writing books in America, are mostly Conservatives, and it seems Conservatives are mostly who are buying books.

Is that because Liberals already know everything, and thus, no longer need to read books?

Conservatards are the only market in which buying sensationalist and ridiculous books has become popular. Liberals get most of their information from scientific journals, older books, and the internet. Conservatives self-brainwash themselves with ridiculous and informationless books. Don't blame me for the fact that you choose to be an idiot.
 
The main villain, his words are rooted right to Margaret Sanger and Walter Lippmann and Woodrow Wilson and all of these nasty progressives.

I wanted to be able to explain how they use an emergency to move the agenda, how we are intentionally doing things because they know that it will lead to the Overton Window, which I didn't know what it was, to be able to say, “Yes, well now see, you've got to take your belt and your shoes off at the airport.”

The Overton people don't think that it can be moved by a politician without repercussions. My theory is yes it can, if the politicians don't care about re-election, or they don't care about their so-called power, that they're deriving their power and their juice from something else.

They'll move that Overton Window all the way down, and when I found the Overton Window I thought, “Wow, this is perfect. Perfect.”
