The Mamdani morass for America

Taichiliberal

Shaken, not stirred!
I advise ALL members to check out what this man has to say about the recent mayoral elections in NYC. And before some of you lose their minds and type madly upon hearing "Black Lives Matter", please note the following before watching the video:

In June 2020, then-U.S. President Donald Trump described Newsome in a tweet as a "Black Lives Matter leader." This description of Newsome prompted a response from managing director of the Black Lives Matter Global Network Foundation Kailee Scales, who stated that Newsome "has no relation to the Black Lives Matter Global Network," "is not the 'president' of BLM or any of its chapters," and that his group "is not a chapter of BLM and has not entered into any agreement with BLM agreeing to adhere to BLM's core principles," adding, "the only official chapter of BLM in New York is Black Lives Matter NYC."

 This partisan hack thinks that makes the corrupt grifting operation hoax known as BLM legit. :rofl2:

Yep, Mamdani, a man with little to no resume managing anything, sounded a lot like Lennin in his angry election winning speech.

Ever notice how members of the Democratic Party of Lying Leftist Insurrectionists always sound angry even if they win?

Mamdani is fighting a battle of labels. He knows he has to work within the framework of the possible. Repubs call him names and use labels. What he offered was hope for a better, fairer city government. Now we have to see how much he can deliver.

Republicans use labels? Are you ignoring the Democrats who didn't want a socialist to win?

You act like this race was between a socialist and a Republican. It was between a socialist and a more establishment Democrat. We get the exact thing in San Francisco, democratic socialists vs (by San Francisco standards) more moderate Democrats.

And as liberal as San Francisco is, we're not electing a socialist for Mayor. So what is it that more mainstream Democrats won’t do that a socialist will?

And you're talking about labels, Mamdani could just call himself a Democrat but he chooses to call himself a democratic socialist. That's how he defines himself politically. It's central to his brand.

When you say Mamdani offers a “fairer” New York, what does that really mean? It’s not Republicans who’ve been running the city. So if things are unfair now, doesn’t that suggest Democrats haven’t been doing a great job?

It is the wealthy who have been running everything in New York. The Dem mayors are figureheads working within the restrictions the wealthy put up. Democratic socialist is a good term. The people voted for him, hoping he could change the city and help them. The people are living in quiet frustration with dying hope. He is a chance.

There are 51 City Council seats in New York City. Democrats control 45 of them. In 1994 Republicans held 7 seats, which is the highest number I could find. So that’s basically total control.

And you’re saying all these Democrats who have essentially run everything in the city for decades are just pawns of the wealthy?
