Superfreak - Question on ClimateGate

I ask you because I remember you posting a lot about it. This article is from today's SF Chronicle on-line edition and is from a doctor who lives in Marin County and the title is Raise Green Children. Like most of the articles on the site there is a comment section after the article where readers can respond. This one is unique because the author actually responded to some comments.

I'll attach the link if you want to read it but the author responded to someone who questioned a New York Times blog on global warming and said the NYT didn't even report on ClimateGate. The author's response to that is below and I'm curious what you think about it.

""You once again ignore the content of the study, which happen to conflict with your preconceived beliefs, and attack the messenger (NYT). Climategate was a fabricated noncontroversy that didn't have any influence on the veracity of the findings. That has been confirmed by independent review.""

I agree with most of what the author was talking about with regards to teaching kids to conserve and leave as small a footprint as possible and the need to alter our long term path. I also agree with some of the dissenters who mock his 'it makes the earth sad' type comments as there is no need to take it to that level. It is condescending and most certainly not necessary.

As far as his response... it is the same clap trap that morons like Cypress put forth.... the 'how many papers have been published' or 'how many times have others cited your work' lines of crap. NEITHER have ANY relevance to the accuracy of a scientists position.

What that 'study' fails to answer is out of the 'active' climate researchers.... how many are dependent on the government funding of their research?

We should do everything in our power to reduce the use of fossil fuels. Air, water and land pollution are all bad for our health. The use of fossil fuels is also bad for the US in terms of national security and economic impact due to dependency on foreign oil.

wow... imagine that... cypress sees a psychologist who fell for the same load of crap he did and he nearly wets himself with glee.

All I can say is that it is truly impressive how cypress, our little female stalking leg humper, has learned to make such pretty charts. He is SOOOOO witty.
