Can someone point me to McCrystals quote that got him canned?

Yes, I know he admitted poor judgement and tendered his resignation, it's all over the news. What I don't know is, what he actually SAID that got him canned, and it seems no one has the answer to that.

It was poor judgment for him to allow Rolling Stone magazine within 500 miles of his command... It was poor judgment for McCrystal to vote for Obama in 2008... but I can't find where the man actually SAID a goddamn thing that should have prompted Obama firing him, and apparently, no one else can provide that quote either!
He made fun of Chia Biden.

Well I read through that article too, and I don't see a direct quote from McCrystal that would warrant his being fired. Can you not provide me with that? Seems like, it wouldn't be so difficult to produce the actual quote from him, so we can judge whether or not it was appropriate. So far, all I have seen is hearsay, speculation, and paraphrasing of what others claim he said.

The general was disrespectful to the administration (his superiors) and to numerous officials from other nations.

It is how the system works, especially once you become the top person at a given command.

Well the only sense I can make from this is, we are supposed to just keep repeating that line over and over again, until it becomes truth? Because I have yet to find what the General actually SAID ...the actual QUOTE from him, which prompted being fired. Oh, there are all kinds of statements like yours, even from the General himself.... just no actual quote of what he said! I've read the RS article several times, all I see is a bunch of army guys cutting up with each other, nothing critical of the mission or the administrations policies whatsoever.

When I first heard about this, my initial thought was, Gen. McCrystal had done a one-on-one interview with Rolling Stone, and had apparently said a bunch of stuff about the Afghanistan strategy, critical of the president or whatever... I thought this because it's a natural assumption, since he was being summoned back to Washington to be fired. But I read the article, didn't find anything from McCrystal, and still haven't. No one can point out what the man said or did to get himself fired. Yet, everyone is repeating the same line..."the general was disrespectful to the administration..." Are we really THAT brainwashed here? REALLY?

We aren't, but the military certainly is. And it has been that way for a long time. This is not new.

I don't understand what you are saying here, it doesn't make sense. The military isn't running around claiming McCrystal was insubordinate! The military didn't fire McCrystal for apparently nothing! The military isn't repeating some bullshit line about how McCrystal was disrespectful of the administration!

Look... Take this exact same scenario, and replace Obama with Bush... Same RS article, same context, but the off-record bantering was about Bush and Cheney instead... and Bush fires the General over it... do you think this is the response we'd be hearing from the left? Of course not! They would be criticizing BUSH!

Perhaps, and perhaps not. I don't waste my time with those "But if it was Bush.....!" scenarios.

Obama is the CIC. Just in case you forgot.
