No Food Aid on 11/1

Health care is difficult. It is constantly evolving and the new treatments are expensive. We had x-rays then CT machines came a long the MRI new technology is very expensive. We need to keep people healthy so we don't have to treat as many sick people. The problem is getting people to change their unhealty behaviors is very hard to do. I think RFK is trying to keep people healthy. He is trying to clean up our food supply right now.
But what happened to the new bigger , better, cheaper healthcare system Trump and the Republicans said they already had and were going to put in place?

The trump administration is marked by cruelty. Trump does not care about others, and that filtered through the Republican party. The Reds have fought raising the min wage. That means many people are working and cannot afford to feed their families. Some work 2 jobs and cannot keep up. Trumps inflation has gone up . That hurts the marginalized people fighting to stay alive.
Trump enjoys turning the screws on the poor. This board shows so do his followers.
Every state has its own qualifications for food stamps.
There are many thousands of Federal employees who were fired by Trump. They will feel the same pain and desperation as the poor.

Thank you. All of this is 100% true.

How you can claim to be a Christian yet fight against anything that helps other people -- food stamps, "welfare," Medicaid, housing assistance -- is beyond my ken. I'm sure that's because none of them are really Christians.

If they didn't want them to expire they should not have included an expiration date when they put in emergency funding for Covid. Now that their far future expiration date has arrived suddenly they want emergency funding to be permanent. Nothing is more permanent than a temporary democrat program.

Did it occur to you as it did to me that the price of getting the extension bill passed was to include that expiration date? Seems to me if that is so, then both parties are to blame for daring to compromise with the other to help the people.

Like when the Democrats promised Reagan they would seal the border in exchange for amnesty.
Did they? Do you have evidence of that? My memory is that the Congress was divided, Democrats had the House and Republicans had the Senate and it was a bipartisan bill.
Democrats weren’t able to do anything unless the Senate passed a bill.

The only thing that changed is that Covid is no longer an emergency, but they still want us to pay for it like it is.

I'm okay with that. I'm not okay with spending over a billion to refurbish an ego plane "gift" to Trump. I'm not okay with coughing up for his vanity birthday military parade, or his "renovation" of the WH with his despicable taste in florid gilt doo-dads.

That's the thing about America and other countries that are "socialist." We all pitch in to help each other out. You never know, YOU might lose your job and need to enroll yourself in an ACA plan until you can find another that provides healthcare insurance. You might need subsidies to help cover it. We're here for you.

That is what RFK is working on now, fewer people needing to use the health insurance means lower premiums for everyone. But remember Obama's promise of a cheaper and better health insurance was a abismal failure. And the Democrats want to pump your tax dollars into it to keep it on life support.

If it were up to me I would do away with for-profit hospitals. Make medical education free. More doctors means lower prices. Doctors not having HUGE school debt means they don't have to charge as much. I'd limit the recoverable amount in malpractice suits. I'm make the loser pay for the legal bills of the winner.

The only law suit I was named in the sleazy lawyer named every doctor on the chart then tried to make them pay 80K each to drop them from the suit. I told the lawyer I'd rather have a jury steal it that a sleazy lawyer like him steal it. He dropped me because he knew I didn't do anything wrong. I knew another Doctor that was sued by the same lawyer and the lawyer did the same thing to him. The lawyer started out demand 160 K then 80 K then 40 K then he dropped the radiologist from the case. The radiologist only read the chest X ray of the patient. The reading was 100% correct. Nonsense suits like this would cease it the system on malpractice would be loser pay. Malpractice insurance would go down and doctors wouldn't need to make as much to pay their bills.

I am also not up for paying for the plane. However, that is not in the CR, nor is it something the leftists have said they want to not pay for or negotiate away in order to pass this CR... When they say what they are doing this for, it is for those reimbursements that they, when they were in power, set an expiration on because they were emergency Covid funds.

Have you ever billed Medicare for anything.? I had a elderly person with a horrible back on Medicare that needed an intrathecal pain pump . The pump alone cost over 13K at the time. Then you have my fee and the hospital's fee. Medicare would only pay 7k. I finally asked the hospital administrator that since I did a lot of pain management procedures at the hospital would they pay for the woman's device and eat their fee if I ate my fee also. The administrator agree and the elderly woman got the pump and it gave her a lot of relief. Medicare is going broke right now.

Hilariouisly copied from elsewhere. Real "doctors" have NOTHING to do with billing... especially when employed by a hospital as you pretend to be. Occasionally an actual physician might be called upon to reverse an insurance company denial. They're far too busy to get into billing issues.

Your story is bunkum, Quackter.

Another person who ignores that states do pay for illegal immigrants and that this money reimbursed them. Covering your ears and shouting doesn't make you "wise", it just maintains your ignorance.
It is amazing how much they will lie to keep their narrative afloat. Looking you straight in the eye and telling you a lie that both of you know is a lie isn't a good look.

Link us up to the "copied from elsewhere" link you are claiming exists.

So you think a higher minimum wage would not mitigate those problems? Wow, that is amazing.
No, I am surprised that you think that is all it would take to mitigate those problems. Personally I think we could mitigate those problems by allowing the market to set the wage, it already has set one far higher than you think. Very few states would have any change at all in the average starting wage with your proposed rate. Regardless... What about the folks that do not have jobs? You want me to pay for their food, do you not?

Show your evidence that they do. It’s against federal law and anyone using federal funds is breaking the law.

Show evidence that federal funds are being used.

Here you go, imbecile:

Yes, there is evidence that undocumented immigrants (also referred to as undocumented aliens) receive limited Medicaid services nationwide through the federal Emergency Medicaid program, which reimburses hospitals for emergency care provided to individuals who meet Medicaid's income and other eligibility criteria but lack qualifying immigration status.

This program, established under federal law (including the Emergency Medical Treatment and Labor Act of 1986), covers acute conditions requiring immediate attention to prevent death, serious harm, or disability, such as labor and delivery, trauma, or acute illnesses.

In fiscal year 2023, Emergency Medicaid spending totaled $3.8 billion, with a significant portion going toward care for undocumented immigrants.

All 50 states participate, though definitions of "emergency" can vary (e.g., some states reimburse for dialysis or cancer treatment if deemed emergent). Undocumented immigrants are ineligible for comprehensive, non-emergency federal Medicaid coverage.

Additionally, at least 14 states plus the District of Columbia use solely state funds to provide broader Medicaid-like coverage to certain undocumented immigrants, such as children, pregnant individuals, or low-income adults, often to reduce uncompensated hospital costs and improve public health outcomes.

These programs cover routine care like primary visits, prescriptions, and preventive services, and as of September 2025, they serve over 1 million people regardless of immigration status. Examples include:
  • California: Covers undocumented children and, until budget constraints limited new adult enrollments in 2025, low-income adults up to age 50.
  • New York: Provides full-scope coverage for undocumented children and seniors over 65.
  • Illinois: Offers Medicaid-equivalent benefits to undocumented adults aged 42–64 (with coverage ending December 31, 2025, due to fiscal pressures).
  • Washington: Covers undocumented children and pregnant individuals, with an enrollment cap for adults reached in 2025.
