Democrats in the news

Then let the shutdown continue. It's not hurting me.

Democrats (the minority) don't get to add $1.5 trillion to the deficit by holding SNAP hostage, and POTUS is permanently laying off nonessential feds as we speak.

Perhaps Senator Thune will take Fetterman's advice and send Chuck away with nothing.

:devilish:
It's not hurting me either, but I care about those it is hurting. Babies and children shouldn't have to suffer because of the whims of a wannabe dictator. And don't tell me to feed them, I already support a bunch of local food banks.

And permanent tax cuts for the middle class.
Wrong.

Overview of Trump's Tax Cuts

The tax cuts implemented under the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act (TCJA) in 2017 included both permanent and temporary provisions.

Permanent Tax Cuts for the Wealthy

  • Corporate Tax Rate: The corporate tax rate was permanently reduced from 35% to 21%.
  • Estate Tax Exemption: The exemption for estate taxes was significantly increased, benefiting wealthy heirs.
  • Certain Deductions: Some deductions that favor high-income earners, such as those for pass-through businesses, are also permanent.

Temporary Tax Cuts for Middle-Class Families

  • Individual Tax Rates: Many individual tax cuts are set to expire after 2025. This includes reductions in personal income tax rates for middle-class families.
  • Child Tax Credit: The expanded Child Tax Credit is temporary and will revert to previous levels unless renewed.

Implications

If the temporary provisions expire, many middle-class families could see their tax burdens increase, while the permanent cuts for the wealthy remain in place. This has led to concerns that the tax system is skewed in favor of the rich, with wealthier individuals benefiting disproportionately from the permanent tax cuts.

I care about those it is hurting.

So you say.

Babies and children shouldn't have to suffer because of the whims of a wannabe dictator.

I agree. So does Senator Fetterman. Why is Chuck so callous?

And don't tell me to feed them, I already support a bunch of local food banks.

The military is not suppose to be abused for leverage. They put their lives at risk for us. Trump tried to pay them but the Dems voted it down.
Stop lying. The military got paid on Oct. 15. You don't know what's going to happen by the end of the month.

NOBODY is supposed to be abused for leverage yet magas don't care if those under the ACA have to suffer.

Then call Chuck Schumer. He is keeping the shutdown going. Hey you are doing your part for babies. You are for killing them in the womb.

Tough shit. Democrats wrote the legislation. Democrats passed it.

Obamacare subsidies were temporary. Democrats already extended them once. Obamacare is unviable as configured.

When the premiums begin to reflect actual costs (instead of inflicting them on the taxpayers), everyone will see Obamacare for what it is.

Unsustainable.

WRONG!
AI Overview

The "One, Big, Beautiful Bill" (BBB) includes permanent tax cuts for the middle class by making certain individual tax reductions from the 2017 Tax Cuts and Jobs Act (TCJA) permanent

So those previously temporary tax cut have now been made PERMANENT by the BBB. So the BBB contained PERMANENT TAX CUTS FOR THE MIDDLE CLASS.

Not by Democrats. They voted to keep the government closed.

POTUS found a way to pay them, and Democrats are screeching about that.
Fast Lame wrote "Trump tried to pay them" instead of agreeing that they got paid despite the shutdown.

I shouldn't be surprised by maga dishonesty anymore, it's endemic.

Military members received their Oct. 15th paychecks through a directive from President Trump, who ordered the Department of Defense to use unspent funds from research and development to cover the paychecks during the government shutdown. This action was a temporary measure to ensure that active-duty service members continued to get paid despite the lack of an approved budget.

That's what I said, while you said "trump TRIED to pay them but the Dems shut it down."

MAGA have offered a clean CR that wouldn't change anything while they had time to negotiate. BUT NOOOOOO! The DEMOCRATS have voted it down at least 12 times. And Trump tried to get federal workers paid including the military but the DEMOCRATS VOTED IT DOWN.
