I understand what you are saying, but I have a serious disagreement with the thoughts of the left "moving too far left."
On social issues, I am to the left of people like Bernie Sanders, Amy Klobuchar and AOC. It is my opinion that there is no "too far" in that direction, because "moving left" really just means being concerned about the well-being of fellow humans.
Insofar as that is concerned, I am extremely leftist...AND DAMNED PROUD OF IT. I have trouble understanding why more people are not.
I refuse to call myself a liberal, because during my lifetime, I've seen liberals allow conservatives to paint them as something evil. It bothers me that now the term "leftist" is getting that same treatment...and now "leftist" is being used by what are essentially fascists to be a pejorative term.
