Hi, Illiterate. You should have noticed that I specifically stated, and I quote, "However, Team Donkey has
largely NOT been doing this". That underlined word means that Team Donkey
has been doing it
a tiny bit, but nowhere near the extent that they NEED to be doing it in order to keep pace with what Team Elephant is doing.
California is responding. You should - I don't know - maybe pick up a newspaper once in a while. This is pretty old news.
California voters are headed to the polls to cast ballots on Prop. 50, Gov. Gavin Newsom's redistricting plan aimed at pushing back on Republicans.
www.usatoday.com
"California's Prop. 50 seeks to let the legislature redraw the state's congressional districts through 2030 to create five more seats favorable to Democrats. The map is already
complete and public."
Yes, California is "retaliating" against Texas by gerrymandering an equal amount of congressional seats back into Team Donkey's favor (Texas gerrymandered 5 seats, so California is likewise gerrymandering 5 seats).
However, my question to you is //
why is hardly anybody on the Donkey side doing it?? //
These are some of the Republican states that are still "on the docket" to gerrymander congressional seats in their favor: North Carolina, Ohio, Indiana, Florida, Louisiana, Kansas
This doesn't include Missouri, which has already added one more seat to Team Elephant, nor does it include the seats which could be added to Team Elephant if SCOTUS decides to remove the leftist racism requirement from the congressional districting procedure. Many southern states will redistrict if that happens, replacing all sorts of leftist DEI seats with Republicans.
Don't you think that leftists should "respond in kind" to this aforementioned ploy by Republicans?
Beyond what California is already doing (to offset Texas),
Team Donkey needs to IMMEDIATELY gerrymander AT LEAST a dozen more seats in their favor, if not closer to twenty seats, in order to keep pace with the aforementioned ploy by Republicans.
Why aren't leftists actively doing this? Who else other than California "has the balls" to fight this fight? Why not New Mexico? Why not Connecticut? Why not Massachusetts? Why isn't Illinois doing much of anything? Why isn't New York doing much of anything? Why isn't Maryland doing much of anything? Where are all of the leftist states in this battle to stop Republicans from gaining a dozen plus seats??
Hint: the answer involves knowledge of history in addition to knowledge of current district lines.
