Why would the left oppose a clean CR?

With the schumer shutdown now at day 20 one has to wonder why the leftists would oppose a clean CR if they cared about the American people as much as they claim they do. A clean CR would get things back up and running without anyone having to concede anything. So what's the reason they won't agree to it?

Like everything else with the dems its all political and schumer's political career is close to almost over since AOC is taking in the reins
of the current Marxist/Progressive/Socialist dem party. With the young commie mamdani about to take over N.Y.C. as its mayor, all the
left has now to maintain their TDS hate Trump minds is to keep the govt shutdown at the behest of schumer.

why did they add sunset provisions to these subsidies in the first place?

They simply lie about their intentions. they were never temporary to them - hence we are shut down now - they will hold us hostage over a vote they know they can't win otherwise
