But you are correct. Looking at countries like China, South Korea, Japan, and a few others, there is some chance at a second chance. It is not as certain that those left behind will always be behind as it seemed a few decades ago.

Reality is that post WW2 due to increased Globalization and the Reconstruction period where America First included immense expenditures in other nations under the belief 'a rising tide raises all ships' including America as a country, was so enormously successful building out more wealth across the world but with America enjoying the majority of it, while growing a world first, thriving middle class.
