OK, no problem. At least you are man enough to acknowledge your mistakes, kudos for that. In actual fact Europe is around 4 million square miles, which includes Alaska and Hawaii and makes it slightly bigger than the USA.

Dixie stated what he meant; he was using hyperbole to make a point, and it was obvious he was talking about Western Europe...So if you are going to include all of Europe's land mass you need to include Canada, Mexico, North Pole and Greenland as all of North America's land mass.

I suggest that you go reread the thread and especially who said what and when.
So if an oil spill happened in Portsmouth and you lived in Liverpool you'd not be concerned, affected, entitled to an opinion?
There are numbers of truckers, restaurants, cannaries, local importers etc dependednt on the Gulf fisheries.

I probably live nearer to the Gulf than you do. All this continual analysis is just bullshit mostly, they are getting on with it and it should be capped shortly. Many people's eyes have been opened over here to how partisan the US is and anti-British to boot.
