I am new but not new?

Well, I’m about sick and tired of those other places like Bluesky, Twitter (X), Facebook, and all the rest. Nothing but vacuums and empty sounding boards. Folks telling each other what they already know — and don’t give a damn about anyway. Nobody’s really talking, just waiting for their turn to hear their own voice bounce back. The minute you try to have a real conversation, or heaven forbid, an argument, they shut you down. Everyone’s locked in their little ideologies, shuffling through life in that one-note, zombie-world mindset. I need something more — something where people are alive, kicking, and still human, not just bots and I'm hopin it's here. We'll see.
It CAN be here... it just depends on who you get interacting with and how willing you are to hold a real conversation in return, even when someone logically puts your feet to the fire.

You seem like a good guy with good intentions. Welcome to the forum!

I’ve been around a lot of forums over the past twenty years, and to tell you the truth, I can’t remember if I’ve been part of this one before or not — time’ll tell. Either way, hello to everyone here. Glad to be back if I am, and if not, happy to meet ya.
Hello, Evan.

You are in for a different experience here in JPP. This place does not operate like some of the many others. (I've also been a contributor to 10 or more other fora...and NONE operate as freely as this one.)

Say what you have to say...and lots of people will respond. If you are thin skinned, this is probably not the place for youl.]

I hope you stick around.

I think what you'll find eventually is that there's quite a few here w/ such severe TDS who consider anyone that isn't 100% opposed to Trump's agenda, 100% of the time will consider you a "MAGAt", "reichwinger", nazi, Christian nationalist, white supremecist, KKK, or "pedo nazi", etc.
You will learn to laugh, ignore or hate them. If you stick around, that is.

So...tell me. What do you think of Trump...and his "policies?"
And here we go...

Well, there's no bots, some socks, all humans though. Damaged humans. 😂 😂 😂
Welcome to Damo's box of broken toys! (y)

Personally, I don’t get caught up in all the noise about Trump’s personality or his style. I look at what he actually does — his decisions — and how they affect folks across the country. He’s made some good calls and some bad ones, same as every other president we’ve ever had. Some did worse, some did better.

Clinton wasn’t any dreamboat. Nixon had his mess. Reagan had his. Bush made his share of blunders, and Biden sure hasn’t been perfect either. The difference is, most of them tried to hide their screwups and play it smooth. Trump just does it out in the open — take it or leave it.

So to me, this presidency’s like all the others: a mixed bag. Some wins, some disasters. We’ll see how it shakes out, but he’s just another president in a long line of them. The next one will be just as human and just as mistake-prone, because that’s what people are — human.

Folks need to give it a rest. All the hype, all the outrage, it’s just noise. It’ll fade soon enough, and then we’ll start the whole circus over again under a new name and a new face.

I think that most of his policies are pretty darn good. I reserve the right to nit pick, of course, but generally speaking, he's been the best President during my lifetime.

Trump, the man, does have his issues (don't we all?). He can have quite an ego at times. He's a bit careless with his words at times. He's been married and divorced multiple times, among other things. However, he also seems like a pretty good grandfather who loves his family, and seems like a funny and fun guy to be around. He's also a VERY strong leader who has A LOT of fight in him.

I don’t know if you’re for real or a sock but either way, pretty shocking to see something like that written here.

Haha, surprised it lasted this long before coming up. It's a JPP requirement to declare your tribe.
So sometimes I side with the right and sometimes I side with the left sometimes I think they are both full of it and don't go either way. Some things the GOP has done are good for all of America and some things not so good, some things the Dems have done are good and some not so good, but I don't know of any person or party that has ever done everything right and everything wrong.

If there was such thing as a moderate republican anymore, that's what I'd be. Those seem to be extinct.
Overall there's very little of dims agenda I agree w/, but there definitely are some.
E.g., I'm OK w/ abortion. I'd like to see the 2nd amendment repealed (which will never happen). Religious... I'm secular. I'm sure there's more. But overall I consider them upside down on most everything else.
