Lurch is Boycotting MSNBC After Their Cowardly Firing of Matt Dowd

I wrote the president of MSNBC over this! Fuck them! They're taking the same cowardly path as all the billionaire fucks paying homage to the fat fuck.

I don't watch much of it anymore anyway. I'm more about watching clips on YouTube.
I gave up on all news after election day. I used to watch MSNBC, and would catch little snippets here and there online. All of the finger pointing and Monday morning quarterbacking was nothing I am interested in.

And then Joe/Mika pulled that stunt.

I already know how this book ends. I don't need to read it chapter by chapter. I wouldn't mind a plot twist where they find trump dead, though. Swollen cankles would be a nice touch.

I could never stand Joe. The only time I watched morning Joe is when Joe was on vacation. He's a bloviating ass-clown. Yes, I fantasize about trump passing away peacefully in his sleep often :)

I've given up most political shows while the petulant orange manbaby is in office. I've come to find that ignoring what I can't change equals a great peace of mind.
If I may ask your opinion about MSNBC. It’s clear some liberals aren’t happy with MSNBC. Is their frustration about the station not being anti-Trump enough because they think tougher coverage could sway moderates and others? Or is it more about wanting a liberal station to essentially go after Trump nonstop and validate what they're feeling?

Truthfully, I wouldn't know. All I know is the way I feel. I don't like what I'm going to dub pattycake news. News that is too catered to anyone's feelings or belief structures. I don't like Fox or MSNBC. I also don't like religious news stations, even though I'm religious.

I get why people watch cable news. It’s like comfort food, since those stations validate your worldview. Basically it tells you you’re good and the other side isn’t.

But I share your sentiments, which is why I don’t watch it either. I find it mind-numbing, though to each his own.

News should put all those in power into perspective and scrutinize them. They shouldn't glorify or crucify them based on whose side is in charge. There is way too much brown nosing one side and vilifying the other going on in this current administration. This is coming from conservative media and conservative politicians. It's like nothing I've ever seen.

The internet snd social media have given people more access to information and a voice, but it’s also pushed us deeper into our own silos.

The days of a Walter Conkrite type are gone. Now we both search and find, and are fed by algorithms, information that confirms our world view.

The war zone thread is a good example. It’s great when people find community in like minded voices. That’s what the internet can do. It’s also still one big echo chamber. It shows how divided we’ve become.

The media has the same problem. Partisans love to hold the other side accountable, but rarely their own. You lose viewers that way.

I’m responding to you but really saying this as a general comment. Politics isn’t static. Parties and people’s views shift over time. All the anti-Trump former Republicans on MSNBC now were neo-cons back in the Bush years.

I can even remember on this board people declaring in 2009 the Republican Party was dead and needed to rid itself of the neo-cons. The latter occurred, and many of them are Democrats now.

Lest people new to this board get the wrong idea about Lurch here and his 'letters', he draws his 'stamps' on his letters with a dull crayon. They end up in a shoebox his mom keeps by the door.
Oh, Edwina. I can't stay mad at you, you're such a lovable little low-minded bitch.
