Jimmy Kimmel is returning to TV

It's really embarrassing to watch. It's the first time in my lifetime that the Badgers have been "pathetic". With the recent changes to the NCAA (the "Big 20+", transfer portal, paying college athletes big bucks), I don't think that the Badgers will ever be competitive at football again (at least for the foreseeable future). I think they would have been alright if they had stuck to what they've always done, but now with the failed identity change, few star athletes are going to want to play for a team that sucks and lacks the identity that they once had.

At least we still got women's hockey, women's volleyball, and hopefully the men's basketball team remains decent.

I'm reminded of Michigan during the Rich Rod era trying to go to a more Air Raid system which of course they later abandoned. Wisconsin has had some good teams over the years. I understand wanting to take the next step but this is just so opposite of who you are. I totally get your frustration.

You were trying to say that Gutfeld couldn't compare, because he was on "prime time"... but he's a cable channel beating all three of the hate night TV shows, by a large margin. Including Fallon, who is on during prime time. Oranges to oranges comparison, Gutfeld rules "late night" TV currently.

Gutfeld has the monopoly on right-wing comedians on cable. Ask yourself how many out there are like Kimmel, and how viewership is spread out?

Someone else already tried that... the reality, Hack Night TV sucks in comparison to Johnny's time... He would have over 17 Million viewers almost every single night. Gutfeld "wins" with a bit over 3 Million.

I think America doesn't like Hack Night TV.

Did you think that maybe the thing they don't like is cable? Gutfeld has the same dedicated to cable viewers that Fox News has. Those tend to be older.

There were other options while Johnny was on too. People watched because they thought he was funny and they liked it. People changed to pretty much anything other than the hate night TV shows. When the "best" of the shows gets 3.5 Million or so viewers and that wins the night, I think it is a sign that they do not draw viewers, because most people do not want to watch them.

Again, I do not believe you regularly watch any of these shows. Because pretty much ANY option is better than these shows.

Kinda flies in the face of them being forced to cancel the show doesn’t it?

For the record, I don’t much care about Kimmel one way or the other. If there are those who enjoy his unfunny angry schtick then God bless. I don’t have to watch so it doesn’t harm me on way or the other

Except he wins the demographic they are all going for, which isn't "old people"...

Among the hack shows, Gutfeld is currently king, even though he competes with shows on free networks, during prime time timeslots.

I do think that "winning" with his 3.5 Million viewers is a bit sad though and it pales in comparison to shows when "Late Night" TV wasn't Hate Night...
