Trump is arm-twisting to get his cut in the profits to be made and using the power of his office to get it. Those who support such measures should heed Cruz's words since this could come back to bite all of the MAGA morons in their fat asses....but most to too fucking stupid or deluded to understand the long-term implications.

Carr is an idiot, and Cruz is playing the long game here. He’s right that Democrats will go after Republicans in the future.
Nobody is 100% consistent, but groups like the old-school ACLU that defended speech they hated don’t really exist today. Jon Stewart for example, talks passionately against government interference in free speech but his support rarely extends to conservatives. That’s probably also a business decision since his audience leans heavily liberal.
