At least try REAL hard. For the evening news, I prefer ABC news. I will decide later if I want to switch to something else. The reason for the title of my thread is because I am really pissed off about them canceling "Jimmy Kimmel Live" over BS. On what were basically Trump's orders. I have heard that when a totalitarian government starts to take over, the first people they go after are the comedians. What Jimmy Kimmel had to say about the Kirk thing wasn't all that bad. Certainly not worth canceling his show over. Also, since ABC is owned by Disney, you should also boycott all their programming to stand up for the cause of Free Speech.

I just come here. I also subscribe to the NYTimes and The Economist.
Hope it doesn't tax your brain too much. I recommend The Economist. The NYTimes "news" is about 1/3 People Magazine, 1/3 Trump vitriol and about 1/3 National Enquirer.
The recipes are good as are the games. I don't start my day without Wordle, Connections and Mini Crossword while drinking coffee.

What comedians were on that show?
I don't have to boycott Disney. I haven't watched anything by them since Lion King.

I watch ABC's World News Tonight while I have dinner. Just something I'm used to doing. The only things it enlightens me on are serious crimes, accidents and aircraft near-miss events in other parts of the country that I wouldn't otherwise hear about.
Everything that happens in politics I hear about elsewhere.

Young people don't really watch the network shows. They're all on streaming, social media etc. But for us who grew up with it, kind of like the newspaper, it's old habit.
After the fall of the Soviet Union extensive studies we done.....what they showed is that even the brightest who knew full well that they were consuming propaganda, and properly discounting it......none the less had their world views extensively twisted by it. With the end of the propaganda (for the most part) seeing the world as it was they were shocked by how effective the propaganda had been on them.
Insidious is a good word for it.
The very reason Colbert and Kimmel's show were canceled was people took your advice and stopped watching them years ago.
