What were the ratings of Kimmel's show?

I've done minimal research on this, I do not watch "hate night television" and don't really know which one he is. I think Fallon is trying to be Johnny Carson and crapping out on it, but still is first in late night...

So, I looked for a source that had no knight in the hunt...

The Hindustan Times.... that seemed to fit the bill.

Kimmel is 3rd, and I was right Fallon is 1st. Kimmel has been dropping in the ratings lately. However I think his show maybe made them some money. With 1 million viewers a night.

If this was simply an economic decision done under the guise of his comments towards Kirk, wouldn't they have fired him instead of suspending him? Or is the thought his firing will follow?

Wow, 3.289 means that off FOX News off-network late show is beating all of the Late (hate) Night network TV out there.

I haven't watched any of those shows since Jay Leno left. The other people who came after him just aren't funny and are full of hatred.

I don't watch him either, but he's definitely the best of the current people by far. He isn't full of hatred like the other ones are.

The announcement came after FCC Chairman Brendan Carr criticized Kimmel and said, "We can do this the easy way or the hard way."​

ABC announced on Wednesday that it was pulling Jimmy Kimmel’s late-night talk show, Jimmy Kimmel Live!, off the air “indefinitely” after Brendan Carr, the Federal Communications Commission chair, criticized comments Kimmel made earlier this week about the motives of the man accused of killing conservative activist Charlie Kirk.

Carr also suggested the FCC could move to revoke ABC affiliate licenses as a way of forcing Disney, the network’s parent company, to punish Kimmel.

Kimmel’s ratings decreased some since then so has all late night TV during the summer, it can’t compete with the streaming services, to imply Kimmel was on his way out and this was the reason he as fired isn’t accurate, especially since now the affiliates have to fill that spot

Kimmel was let go, as was Colburn, due to pressure by the FCC per Trump’s demand, Carr and Trump have even implied such, it’s an effort to control all media. No one will be surprised when Trump approves Ellison owner of Tic Toc, follows the pattern. Pravda, Maralago style

When Rev Al Sharpton was stabbed, if people in the media with a soap box made jokes about how it was a black guy that felt he wasn't black enough, I would of called for their jobs too.


Restoring a sense of decency in the worst of times is a turning point that I applaud

That ultimately is the problem. They stopped being entertaining. Jimmy would have eventually ended up in this same spot anyway if he kept on that path.

Gutfeld and Watters should be the first two targetted and shut down by the next Dem admin by the joint standard magats and i now share.

I am genuinely excited to see this new standard implemented.
 
Two things are true here.

The format of Late Night Talk shows on regular tv has been struggling and any of the shows might have been cut.

Also...

Trump and his FTC chair absolutely stepped in and used the immense power the FTC has to pressure and threaten them to act and fire them and they have others they are still pressuring to get fired.

I support the RIGHT of an aggressive FTC under Dem control to threaten if they are not fired to go after Fox and their affiliates who air the show.

I agree with magats on this new power and it is one time we are in sync.
