Now if you believe reports at a minimum this alleged shooter was living with a transgender person and some reports claim they were dating.
Now if you believe these reports, then I think it is safe to assume that this alleged shooter was a more tolerant of the transgender lifestyle than most Trump supporters wouldn't you say?
Let me ask you another way. Without knowing anything else, would you say people who support transgenderism are more likely to be Trump supporters or not?
To your last question, yes. However, we are talking about a clearly badly mentally ill person, so you cannot assume that his reasoning is even similar to the majority of the population.
Information is incoming, but currently what I know is that he was raised by Trump supporters, a strongly conservative family. That his housemate was a transexual. We do not know if the housemate was transexual when the living arrangements were made. There is strong indication the kid is insane. My guess is that he hated both the left and the right. He was into this internet group that was all about hate and "owning" and gaining cred based on actions. I think he saw this as the ultimate "owning" of society.
