The federal government has given BP until the end of the weekend to find ways to speed up efforts to contain huge amounts of oil gushing from a ruptured well in the Gulf of Mexico, according to a letter released Saturday, as large globs of brown crude coated Alabama's white sand beaches.

The Rear Admiral is not Obama, and his letter doesn't appear to have a deadline other than to identify some redundancy that could be applied so that if there is a failure in the current capture there'd be some backup...

Seems like just another excuse to hate from the Yurtsie, but maybe you can explain it better than what I'm reading....

Obama is allowing BP to control the disaster to minimize finacial damage. He's doing it at a cost to the environment. you supposed champions of the environment who cry over CO2 concentration are revealed as total fucking hypocrites


From day 1 the Obama team focus has been on controlling the message and not about controlling the oil

So, did you figure out that the 14th does not require one state to recognize rights protected under another state? Have you figured out that the 14th does not mean that the Feds may violate the privileges and immunities granted under the Constitution? You ran off after damo and onceler brought in an argument from another thread and never answered how it is that the Feds may violate the constitutional rights (including due process) of citizens. If you like, I can pull up the thread.

Hey...I didn't realize you loved Mike Savage so much, tinfoil!

What's interesting is that most conservatives (even here on the board) were on board with BP stopping & cleaning its own spill in the early days. But, that was back before they realized how much they could use it against Obama if things really went south.

Now, of course, the federal government - the one they want to have as little power & resources as possible - should be controlling the spill & its cleanup.
