With the long list of priors this guy had, somebody should have sentenced him to a nuthouse followed by prison time. That would have stopped this murder.

Why didn't this happen?

The weapon used was a simple folding knife. Gun Control would not have helped. Practical limits on carrying long hunting knives would not have helped. He could have killed her with a ball point pen, or a landscaping rock.

He was clearly a danger to himself and others, and should have been locked up and on strong meds.

Why didn't the previous altercation judges do their duty?

The guy is a criminal, one now responsible for a tragedy, America has many, always has, you can’t generalize off of incidents to imply America is rampant with crime, especially when the statistics prove otherwise
