Are Democrats a cult?

To begin, let's look at the meaning of 'cult'.

This word came into the English lexicon around the 1600's from Latin 'cultus' meaning care of labor; a cultivation or culture; typically with a religious overtone.
Today, it's often associated with primitive or ancient forms of worship. This stems from the French 'culte', another contribution to the meaning of the word 'cult'.

There are many religions of Democrats, including the Church of Green, the Church of the Ozone Hole, the Church of Global Warming, the Church of Covid, the Church of Hate, the Church of Deviancy, the Church of the EV, the Church of Karl Marx, the Church of No God, etc. All of these deny science, mathematics, history, and traditional religions.

On this basis alone, it could be argued that to be a Democrat is to believe in primitive religions, thus satisfying the term 'cult'.

  • Charismatic Leader: A group led by a charismatic figure who claims to have a unique vision or solution for problems.
    Group promotes a rigid, exclusive ideology that is often contradictory to the beliefs of the outside world.
  • Manipulative Practices: Techniques used to control and manipulate members, such as isolation, indoctrination, or brainwashing.
    Control Over Relationships: The leader has final say on relationships with family and friends within the group.
    Fear of Leaving: Cults often use fear to keep members loyal, claiming that leaving is dangerous or that the group is the only safe place.
    Exclusive Ideology: The group promotes a rigid, exclusive ideology that is often contradictory to the beliefs of the outside world.
    Brainwashing: Members are indoctrinated to think only in the group's terms, leading to a lack of critical thinking and critical thinking about the group itself.

Charismatic Leader: Nope. The Democrats currently have nothing like that. They have like the Twelve Dwarfs or something equally useless.
They do promote a rigid ideology, but it isn't exclusive. It mirrors radical Leftist political groups around the world.
They can be manipulative but rely far more on allies in the MSM and on celebrities than internal practice.
They neither control relationships nor have a fear of members leaving. In fact, they often kick those that would buck the leadership out entirely.
Their ideology isn't exclusive either. As pointed out, it's the same radical Leftist crap other groups in that part of the political spectrum practice.
Brainwashing? To a limited extent. It's more like their members willing accept what the group says and those that question it are forced to leave.

So, I'd say the Democrat(ic) party is more like a religion than a cult.

Nope. Doesn't apply to MAGA, doesn't apply to Democrats. But as I pointed out, Democrats, like Sinema and Manchin, as two examples, were driven out of the party because they wouldn't vote in lockstep. Fetterman is another that's increasingly in that category. You don't see the Republicans kicking out or forcing out those in their ranks that disagree with the majority.

Their deity is called "government." They elevate it to that level. The 'Grinning Ass' Tim Kane recently said as much claiming that Rights derive from government not God or some higher plain of existence.

They're more like an organized crime syndicate since the early 1970's, and like to recruit sociopaths and psychopaths and all manner of sick deviants of one stripe or another. Like Islam is a criminal syndicate hiding behind a religion, Democrats are merely assorted homicidal serial killers and mobsters hiding behind a political scam.
