Florida plans to become first state to eliminate all childhood vaccine mandates

You wanna make kids healthier? Get them off those damn cell phones and out in the back yard. Play wiffle ball, football, basketball, baseball (if there's a diamond close), etc. Kids are full of energy. It's healthy to burn it off. And feed them!
I can’t disagree with that. But being on the playground is not going to protect them from measles, mumps, polio, pertussis, tetanus or any of the others. In fact, it probably makes exposure greater.

Most of us survived measles, mumps, chickenpox, and other stuff. It used to be a normal thing.
That’s because vaccinations were required, idiot. Chickenpox and mumps are usually not life threatening. They just have nasty consequences later.

Measles is an entirely different animal. Much deadlier and high risk consequences for pregnant women.

Vaccines have saved at least 154 million lives globally over the past 50 years, the World Health Organization reported in 2024. The majority of those were infants and children.

“Vaccines are among the most powerful inventions in history, making once-feared diseases preventable,” said Dr. Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, WHO director-general.

In Florida, vaccine mandates for child day care facilities and public schools include shots for measles, chickenpox, hepatitis B, diphtheria-tetanus-acellular pertussis, polio and other diseases, according to the state Health Department’s website.

Ladapo didn’t give a timeline for the changes but said the department can scrap its own rules for some vaccine mandates, though others would require action by the Florida Legislature. He did not specify any particular vaccines but repeated several times that the effort would end “all of them. Every last one of them.”

"...Most adults and many children should get an updated COVID-19 vaccine.
COVID-19 vaccination is safe for children 6 months and older...."

So, if it's a recommendation, it is relevant..
“Should” is the operative word. Not among the mandated vaccines.

You morons don’t even realize that you validate my posts every fucking time.

Let me repeat.... How important it is to engage Respectfully with people who may be hesitant about vaccines... share knowledge that is available from reliable sources about which vaccines have been established to be safe... Democrats simply can't or won't do it...
Some things never change...
That's why it's so good that things are changing...

Ignorance shouldn't be celebrated or respected

Don't need to have a diamond , we use to play in the street. and if a car came we would yell CAR and get out of the street till it was gone and went back to playing.
YES the cell phones should go get kids outside and play.

Never hit a car or broke a window? Not a wise thing to play in the street these days...just saying...;)
Agree with putting the phones down for everyone...Schools are taking them away...finally...;)

Interesting SFEO, considering...;)
A quick google search....
"In the 1950s, before polio vaccines were available in the US, polio outbreaks caused more than 15,000 cases of paralysis each year. After polio vaccines were introduced in the US, the number of polio cases fell rapidly to less than 100 per year in the 1960s and fewer than 10 in the 1970s."
