Well, according to the BLS a gender studies degree averages about $68,000 a year or less than most skilled trades pay with the largest occupation by persons with one being liars... err, lawyers at 6% of all holders.

Well my friends that have a big farm about a mile or so from MAR. are already talking about making sure they can get enough pickers for the crops they plan on planting when they go back down there in Oct.
They don't know what they will do if they can't get enough to get their crop in, but plow it under and raise the price of what they do sell.

Its not that people are lazy, its just that its too damn hot outside to be picking anything but a damn ice cold drink out the cooler. I personally wish they'd gather up all these damn teen thugs and put them in these fields to pick up the slack. But truth be told, tax payers will subsidize the losses and consumers will pay dealer for the lack of....its a win win win for MAGA.

Farmers in other states have turned away U.S. residents for being a few minutes late for interviews, or for not knowing the fine points of federal labor law. In North Carolina, the Growers Association says it hires domestic workers after a simple five-minute phone interview — but state officials describe the process as intentionally inefficient and even hostile. “They go out of their way to discourage local workers from seeking employment,” Lee Albritton, a former job-service employee, wrote in a memo to his supervisors. In 1999, the state found jobs on non-H-2A farms for 12,700 domestic workers. By contrast, on H-2A farms, the state found jobs for only seven workers.
